My first Christmas Card

No! I don't mean I have received one - I have made one. Yes! - made a Christmas Card, in the first week of the New Year.  It is certainly a first for me.

I thought with the snow on the ground the obvious card to make today would be a Christmas one.  It isn't a stamped card - it is using one of the many Christmas pictures I have in my stash.

These cards I am making at the moment will be for this years fund-raising box, so they are more simple in design to those I make for giving to friends & family. I will be making quite a few of these obviously, & using up all this stash, so will probably save them up & put photos here in batches in a slide show. Here is today's card.

The little girl & the mini message have been raised with foam pads, & to give it a bit of sparkle I have outlined the main picture & the greeting with glittery gold peel-off borders.

I have stamped a card today as well - which is my entry for one of the challenge websites I follow.  You can take a look at it HERE on my personal website.

Tomorrow I will photograph all the handmade Christmas Cards I received & put a slide show on the blog. Oh yes & a photo of the birthday card I made for Bob.

CSNW Photos & last post

 Good afternoon ladies this afternoon I have the photos from the CSNW S&T for June. The theme I set was any theme of their choosing but using the colours red, white & blue.  Here are their cards. Amy Two nice classic style cards from Amy Grace Simplicity is the key here They are so elegant too. Gwen Beautiful embossed card & flowers which have been decoupaged Joan A stepper card with a beautiful circular central topper. Thank you ladies for sending them in - certainly very different styles today. So! - Last post? Over the last year or so all 3 clubs have been getting themselves sorted out in order to continue running the clubs from now on. Remember I announced in 2019 that I would be standing back at the end of 2020 & retiring.  I will of course keep in touch & visit the meetings now & again.  But it is now time for me to hang up my stamps.  Well not literally as I will still make cards - but you know what I meant. All 3 clubs now have the way forward sorted.  C

Jayne Nestorenko

Good morning I was informed this morning, by Rita of Mold II club, that Jayne Nestorenko had passed away on Saturday evening after a long illness. I suspect that there may be some amongst you who do not know of her - but many who do. I followed Jayne's work for a long time & many of those lovely large wooden stamps that were around came into my collection beause of her enthusiasm & creativity. I particularly enjoyed using, & held many workshops at Daleside, to show how to use the Treasure Box stamps which were very popular; I cannot now remember who made those stamps & there were different sizes & you made different shaped boxes according to how many pieces you stamped.  Then of course you also had the matching medallion stamp to place on the top of the box. The crafting world is saddened by the loss of this lovely lady. Sleep peacefully Jayne.
