Nous sommes arrives

Hi everyone
Well we actually arrived at the hotel about 4:15 pm (That's 3:15 pm for you).  We had a good journey down from North Wales - encountering quite a bit of rain, but it is dry here - a little cloudy but reasonably sunny.

We are staying just on the edge of Calais, then tomorrow we move on to Le Havre where will be staying on Friday night.

Taking it easy for a couple of hours - we have tried to catch our emails but link is slow.  Yet I managed to get onto blogger - strange.  Keeping fingers crossed it doesn't fall apart when I am ready to upload this.  Bob has sorted the TV - so we are also keeping an eye on Wimbledon.

We have decided to spend this evening at the hotel - having our evening meal here about 7:15.  We are not heading off too early tomorrow morning as Le Havre is only about 3 hours away.  But it will be nice to have the time to look around as I have not been there before.

Well! I am not going to push my luck anymore & will sign off now.  There will probably be a wi-fi link at the hotel tomorrow so if I have the chance will let you know what the day was like.

CSNW Photos & last post

 Good afternoon ladies this afternoon I have the photos from the CSNW S&T for June. The theme I set was any theme of their choosing but using the colours red, white & blue.  Here are their cards. Amy Two nice classic style cards from Amy Grace Simplicity is the key here They are so elegant too. Gwen Beautiful embossed card & flowers which have been decoupaged Joan A stepper card with a beautiful circular central topper. Thank you ladies for sending them in - certainly very different styles today. So! - Last post? Over the last year or so all 3 clubs have been getting themselves sorted out in order to continue running the clubs from now on. Remember I announced in 2019 that I would be standing back at the end of 2020 & retiring.  I will of course keep in touch & visit the meetings now & again.  But it is now time for me to hang up my stamps.  Well not literally as I will still make cards - but you know what I meant. All 3 clubs now have the way forward sorted.  C

Jayne Nestorenko

Good morning I was informed this morning, by Rita of Mold II club, that Jayne Nestorenko had passed away on Saturday evening after a long illness. I suspect that there may be some amongst you who do not know of her - but many who do. I followed Jayne's work for a long time & many of those lovely large wooden stamps that were around came into my collection beause of her enthusiasm & creativity. I particularly enjoyed using, & held many workshops at Daleside, to show how to use the Treasure Box stamps which were very popular; I cannot now remember who made those stamps & there were different sizes & you made different shaped boxes according to how many pieces you stamped.  Then of course you also had the matching medallion stamp to place on the top of the box. The crafting world is saddened by the loss of this lovely lady. Sleep peacefully Jayne.
