A friend's birthday card

I hope you have been having a great weekend - it would have been nice to have had some better weather though, wouldn't it?

Well whilst Bob & Gareth were watching the rugby yesterday afternoon I got on & finished my friend's birthday card & thought you would like to see it.  She doesn't read my blog - well she might read my personal one but not the club one - so I can show it to you.

I really fancied doing a shape I hadn't done for a while so chose this cascade style.
I chose the black card after choosing the pink & black papers.  If you click on the photos you will be shown a larger version which will op-en in another window.  You will then be able to see the gems that are on the card to add a bit of bling.


I have done some stamping on it - the verse inside is stamped with one of my favourite birthday messages.

As you know I have so many background papers & toppers so this was a nice card where I could use good papers & do some stamping too.

The next stage was to find an envelope, which wasn't as daunting as I first thought.  In a box I had some DL cream cards which were exactly the size I needed.  To make things a little coordinated, I took a spare strip of the black with pink flourish paper that matches the pink with black flourish paper to put a decorative band on the left-hand side of the envelope.

I have also been busy with other crafting over the weekend - details of that in the next post.

CSNW Photos & last post

 Good afternoon ladies this afternoon I have the photos from the CSNW S&T for June. The theme I set was any theme of their choosing but using the colours red, white & blue.  Here are their cards. Amy Two nice classic style cards from Amy Grace Simplicity is the key here They are so elegant too. Gwen Beautiful embossed card & flowers which have been decoupaged Joan A stepper card with a beautiful circular central topper. Thank you ladies for sending them in - certainly very different styles today. So! - Last post? Over the last year or so all 3 clubs have been getting themselves sorted out in order to continue running the clubs from now on. Remember I announced in 2019 that I would be standing back at the end of 2020 & retiring.  I will of course keep in touch & visit the meetings now & again.  But it is now time for me to hang up my stamps.  Well not literally as I will still make cards - but you know what I meant. All 3 clubs now have the way forward sorted.  C

Jayne Nestorenko

Good morning I was informed this morning, by Rita of Mold II club, that Jayne Nestorenko had passed away on Saturday evening after a long illness. I suspect that there may be some amongst you who do not know of her - but many who do. I followed Jayne's work for a long time & many of those lovely large wooden stamps that were around came into my collection beause of her enthusiasm & creativity. I particularly enjoyed using, & held many workshops at Daleside, to show how to use the Treasure Box stamps which were very popular; I cannot now remember who made those stamps & there were different sizes & you made different shaped boxes according to how many pieces you stamped.  Then of course you also had the matching medallion stamp to place on the top of the box. The crafting world is saddened by the loss of this lovely lady. Sleep peacefully Jayne.
