Card making day

Good evening everyone

I have quite a good day today making cards for my forthcoming workshops.

I have made a napkin fold card & two cards with acetate dome covers.

The napkin fold card was really quite easy to make - there is just quite a bit of measuring & folding, then cutting out of papers to decorate.  The acetate dome cards did not take me as long as I thought which was a pleasant surprise.  They were a little fiddly when putting the acetate on.  You really had to let the acetate know who was in charge - trouble was there were a couple of moments when it thought it was.

I thought it would better to show you the card side view so that you can see the acetate.  I think we will probably make one of these one night too.

All in all quite a fruitful day.

That's me for today - more tomorrow -although it is Mold II September meeting so it will depend on what time I get home.

CSNW Photos & last post

 Good afternoon ladies this afternoon I have the photos from the CSNW S&T for June. The theme I set was any theme of their choosing but using the colours red, white & blue.  Here are their cards. Amy Two nice classic style cards from Amy Grace Simplicity is the key here They are so elegant too. Gwen Beautiful embossed card & flowers which have been decoupaged Joan A stepper card with a beautiful circular central topper. Thank you ladies for sending them in - certainly very different styles today. So! - Last post? Over the last year or so all 3 clubs have been getting themselves sorted out in order to continue running the clubs from now on. Remember I announced in 2019 that I would be standing back at the end of 2020 & retiring.  I will of course keep in touch & visit the meetings now & again.  But it is now time for me to hang up my stamps.  Well not literally as I will still make cards - but you know what I meant. All 3 clubs now have the way forward sorted.  C

Jayne Nestorenko

Good morning I was informed this morning, by Rita of Mold II club, that Jayne Nestorenko had passed away on Saturday evening after a long illness. I suspect that there may be some amongst you who do not know of her - but many who do. I followed Jayne's work for a long time & many of those lovely large wooden stamps that were around came into my collection beause of her enthusiasm & creativity. I particularly enjoyed using, & held many workshops at Daleside, to show how to use the Treasure Box stamps which were very popular; I cannot now remember who made those stamps & there were different sizes & you made different shaped boxes according to how many pieces you stamped.  Then of course you also had the matching medallion stamp to place on the top of the box. The crafting world is saddened by the loss of this lovely lady. Sleep peacefully Jayne.
