Found a new card

Good evening everyone
Last night was my September meeting at HSNW & two of the members showed us all how to make a really lovely card with a sort of pop up feature.  I have asked them if I can use it here & I am building it into our programme - at least one of the clubs will do it before Christmas then the other or others will do it in the New Year.  It's been a long time since a design has captured my interest to the extent it did - I loved it.

I have now definitely finished organising the programme for the rest of the year & tomorrow hope to finish writing it up on the club pages. 

This morning I had a crochet workshop which unfortunately had several people not turn up - but nonetheless there was a new lady & it was so good to see someone who had never tried it before going away eager to buy a hook & some wool & looking forward to the next workshop.  Makes it all worthwhile.

Tomorrow I am meeting up with Sue.  We are popping over to Voirrey embroidery on the Wirral as there is an exhibition she wants to see.  We will also probably sit & have lunch & a good old natter about crafting.

More news tomorrow.  Night night.

CSNW Photos & last post

 Good afternoon ladies this afternoon I have the photos from the CSNW S&T for June. The theme I set was any theme of their choosing but using the colours red, white & blue.  Here are their cards. Amy Two nice classic style cards from Amy Grace Simplicity is the key here They are so elegant too. Gwen Beautiful embossed card & flowers which have been decoupaged Joan A stepper card with a beautiful circular central topper. Thank you ladies for sending them in - certainly very different styles today. So! - Last post? Over the last year or so all 3 clubs have been getting themselves sorted out in order to continue running the clubs from now on. Remember I announced in 2019 that I would be standing back at the end of 2020 & retiring.  I will of course keep in touch & visit the meetings now & again.  But it is now time for me to hang up my stamps.  Well not literally as I will still make cards - but you know what I meant. All 3 clubs now have the way forward sorted.  C

Jayne Nestorenko

Good morning I was informed this morning, by Rita of Mold II club, that Jayne Nestorenko had passed away on Saturday evening after a long illness. I suspect that there may be some amongst you who do not know of her - but many who do. I followed Jayne's work for a long time & many of those lovely large wooden stamps that were around came into my collection beause of her enthusiasm & creativity. I particularly enjoyed using, & held many workshops at Daleside, to show how to use the Treasure Box stamps which were very popular; I cannot now remember who made those stamps & there were different sizes & you made different shaped boxes according to how many pieces you stamped.  Then of course you also had the matching medallion stamp to place on the top of the box. The crafting world is saddened by the loss of this lovely lady. Sleep peacefully Jayne.
