CSNW meeting

Good afternoon ladies

Well! last night we had an increase in membership - at least I hope it is an increase.  We had 2 Ladies visit us with a view to joining us - so Hayley & Andrea we look forward to seeing you again.  Then we also had a returning member - Enid it was so good to see you again.

Our Show & Tell was the Telescopic Card which they had learnt to make at their December meeting.  There were 4 brought in & I have to apologise to one lady (I think it is Margaret) as the photo of her card didn't come out.  Most of the photos taken last night came out on the dark side for some reason or other, although we were a little rushed at the end of the evening.

Here are the photos from the show & tell;

What a lovely Valentine card .............

........... & a Heritage one

This photo doesn't show the card itself very well - one reason that it is brown card laid on brown table.
It is a gate fold card with a cut away window so that the telescopic card can be seen inside.

Well done ladies.

The project for the evening was the card with the puffed up image - a decision was made to create the topper for a card & not to rush trying to finish the card completely.  Here they are -

This technique is not the easiest to photograph but I think you can see this little hedgehog is puffed up
He is doing what we all should do - taking time to smell the flowers

This cute teddy shows up well too - bless him

These are two separate cards - not a reproduction of the same one.
The fullness shows a little more in the top photo - but both had achieved a nicely raised area.

I don't think there is any doubt about this butterfly.
I have noticed that if the image itself is left uncoloured or lighter coloured than the surround it shows the puffed image off better

A lovely kimono another image that works well with this technique

Here is another image that is perfect for this technique
On this one the border colouring was done with chalks rather than the Distress Inks

In this one only the flower has been puffed - but the mice could have been done as well.

The flower is actually puffier than it appears in this photograph -another image that works well

I hope that everyone that tries this technique will use it at some time - it produces a great card.

Back later with those A - Z cards.
