70th birthday card

Good afternoon ladies

I thought you might like to see the 70th birthday card I made for Bob's friend.  I do hang my head as no stamping was involved.


I created everything through "My Craft Studio".  The background paper & the large round central image with car I printed to fit an 8x8 card.  I then layered the background paper onto some silver paper to frame it & mounted it onto the square white card, then mounted the circular image on foam pads, & manipulated a second version of the image so that the car registration was UR70.  I then cut out just the car & mounted it onto foam pads, placing it over the other image for a 3-d effect.  The second photo is of one side of the card inserts.  Again through MCS I was able to manipulate the text to appear in a circle within the faded version of the round image.

Definitely one for "large" postage, this one.

All in all I was rather pleased with the outcome.  I hope the person receiving it will like it too.

CSNW Photos & last post

 Good afternoon ladies this afternoon I have the photos from the CSNW S&T for June. The theme I set was any theme of their choosing but using the colours red, white & blue.  Here are their cards. Amy Two nice classic style cards from Amy Grace Simplicity is the key here They are so elegant too. Gwen Beautiful embossed card & flowers which have been decoupaged Joan A stepper card with a beautiful circular central topper. Thank you ladies for sending them in - certainly very different styles today. So! - Last post? Over the last year or so all 3 clubs have been getting themselves sorted out in order to continue running the clubs from now on. Remember I announced in 2019 that I would be standing back at the end of 2020 & retiring.  I will of course keep in touch & visit the meetings now & again.  But it is now time for me to hang up my stamps.  Well not literally as I will still make cards - but you know what I meant. All 3 clubs now have the way forward sorted.  C

Jayne Nestorenko

Good morning I was informed this morning, by Rita of Mold II club, that Jayne Nestorenko had passed away on Saturday evening after a long illness. I suspect that there may be some amongst you who do not know of her - but many who do. I followed Jayne's work for a long time & many of those lovely large wooden stamps that were around came into my collection beause of her enthusiasm & creativity. I particularly enjoyed using, & held many workshops at Daleside, to show how to use the Treasure Box stamps which were very popular; I cannot now remember who made those stamps & there were different sizes & you made different shaped boxes according to how many pieces you stamped.  Then of course you also had the matching medallion stamp to place on the top of the box. The crafting world is saddened by the loss of this lovely lady. Sleep peacefully Jayne.
