another card

Good evening everyone

Well despite having to wait around for the gas man today & also having a visit from my brother & nephew I did manage to get a card done.

I have lost count - I think this is number 7 - which on my reckoning makes me 3 cards adrift with my attempt to make one a day starting from a week ago Tuesday. So a bit of catching up to do.


A complete change of colour for me.  This is another Dimension Stamps image & is the first time I have used it.  I decided I would have some background paper for a change too & looking through a pad I had, I spotted (sorry - no pun intended) this spotty orange paper.  But it is not orange - I don't know what you would call it.  Looking for the colour ink pads to use I found I had 2 in that sort of shade, in fact the darker one is almost identical & it is called Topaz.  Now I made a serious stampers error.  Having painted the image with my trusty water brush & the ink pads I cut out the image leaving a little border all round then I placed it on the card with sticky pads to raise it a little.  I then decided to put the Happy Birthday bottom right corner BUT made the decision to stamp it in the Topaz ink & emboss it with clear EP.  Now we all know how disastrous it would have been had that little part of the work had gone wrong.  But I was lucky.

Since coming home from the Mold club meeting I have loaded the photos I took & tomorrow I will resize them & put them in the blog.  Probably not until the evening as we are going out for the day.

CSNW Photos & last post

 Good afternoon ladies this afternoon I have the photos from the CSNW S&T for June. The theme I set was any theme of their choosing but using the colours red, white & blue.  Here are their cards. Amy Two nice classic style cards from Amy Grace Simplicity is the key here They are so elegant too. Gwen Beautiful embossed card & flowers which have been decoupaged Joan A stepper card with a beautiful circular central topper. Thank you ladies for sending them in - certainly very different styles today. So! - Last post? Over the last year or so all 3 clubs have been getting themselves sorted out in order to continue running the clubs from now on. Remember I announced in 2019 that I would be standing back at the end of 2020 & retiring.  I will of course keep in touch & visit the meetings now & again.  But it is now time for me to hang up my stamps.  Well not literally as I will still make cards - but you know what I meant. All 3 clubs now have the way forward sorted.  C

Jayne Nestorenko

Good morning I was informed this morning, by Rita of Mold II club, that Jayne Nestorenko had passed away on Saturday evening after a long illness. I suspect that there may be some amongst you who do not know of her - but many who do. I followed Jayne's work for a long time & many of those lovely large wooden stamps that were around came into my collection beause of her enthusiasm & creativity. I particularly enjoyed using, & held many workshops at Daleside, to show how to use the Treasure Box stamps which were very popular; I cannot now remember who made those stamps & there were different sizes & you made different shaped boxes according to how many pieces you stamped.  Then of course you also had the matching medallion stamp to place on the top of the box. The crafting world is saddened by the loss of this lovely lady. Sleep peacefully Jayne.
