Hi - so here we are - the shortest day of the year.  From today on the days get longer, the evenings get lighter.  But - according to the weather man on TV this morning - he reckons something along the lines of - days longer, winds stronger & he forecasts cold weather.

Mind you, it doesn't seem that long ago we were bemoaning the arrival of the longest day & how the dreary dark evenings would soon be with us.  Where does the time go?  Yes, I know - I am constantly asking that question & nobody can answer me.

I also noticed that the headlines in one paper - was "Christmas Day weather - Snow".  Ah well, it gives them something to print I guess.  News must be slow. Fingers crossed they are wrong.  I know if it snows around Christmas it does sort of make it magical & everywhere does look pretty in its new white dress - but ............ there are downsides to it.

I have had a very domestic, Christmas preparation day today.  Shopping etc - but it was brightened up for a short while in the afternoon when Elayne & Gareth dropped in to see us.  Guess what - I have even less to do - Gareth has made Christmas cake.

I am afraid I didn't get around to photographing that canvas that Caroline did for us - will do it tomorrow, when I hope the day will be less hectic.  I know the shops are open but I have promised myself not to go to them - to have a rest from the commercial world.

I have to say I am looking forward to Christmas Day - I always do - just this year is a little different family wise.  Just hope Bob has improved enough to enjoy it.

Have a good weekend - or at least what is left of it.  Take care in this awful rain & wind that has returned blowing everything about.

CSNW Photos & last post

 Good afternoon ladies this afternoon I have the photos from the CSNW S&T for June. The theme I set was any theme of their choosing but using the colours red, white & blue.  Here are their cards. Amy Two nice classic style cards from Amy Grace Simplicity is the key here They are so elegant too. Gwen Beautiful embossed card & flowers which have been decoupaged Joan A stepper card with a beautiful circular central topper. Thank you ladies for sending them in - certainly very different styles today. So! - Last post? Over the last year or so all 3 clubs have been getting themselves sorted out in order to continue running the clubs from now on. Remember I announced in 2019 that I would be standing back at the end of 2020 & retiring.  I will of course keep in touch & visit the meetings now & again.  But it is now time for me to hang up my stamps.  Well not literally as I will still make cards - but you know what I meant. All 3 clubs now have the way forward sorted.  C

Jayne Nestorenko

Good morning I was informed this morning, by Rita of Mold II club, that Jayne Nestorenko had passed away on Saturday evening after a long illness. I suspect that there may be some amongst you who do not know of her - but many who do. I followed Jayne's work for a long time & many of those lovely large wooden stamps that were around came into my collection beause of her enthusiasm & creativity. I particularly enjoyed using, & held many workshops at Daleside, to show how to use the Treasure Box stamps which were very popular; I cannot now remember who made those stamps & there were different sizes & you made different shaped boxes according to how many pieces you stamped.  Then of course you also had the matching medallion stamp to place on the top of the box. The crafting world is saddened by the loss of this lovely lady. Sleep peacefully Jayne.
