CSNW photos - part 1

Good afternoon everyone.

Well! I did manage to get a doctors appointment this morning & he is referring me to the ENT clinic at Countess Hospital in Chester.  As it could be a while until I get an appointment he has given me some histamine tablets in case there is something I am allergic to that could be causing the problem.  All this done by talking to me & sitting on the opposite side of the desk.  Doctors do not approach you anymore - like feel your throat to see if there are any swellings - that kind of thing.  He didn't even look in my throat.  What has happened to hands on doctoring.  OK - slight soap box bit over.

This afternoon I have the photos from the CSNW meeting last night & are of their Show & Tell, the theme of which was Polka dots;


A really delicate card & good use of polka dot background papers.


This is absolutely beautiful - I really love that colour - even part of her clothes are polka dot pattern


A nice clean & simple design & I love the use of the large polka dots.  The words are actually stamped on an acetate cover.


Another nice clean & simple design - in a monochrome blue.


Very clever use of polka dot papers here - right down to the butterflies, flowers & leaves.

That's it for that set of photos I will be back later with the photos from the Project for the evening.  But immediately after this I will be popping in with a member showcase.

CSNW Photos & last post

 Good afternoon ladies this afternoon I have the photos from the CSNW S&T for June. The theme I set was any theme of their choosing but using the colours red, white & blue.  Here are their cards. Amy Two nice classic style cards from Amy Grace Simplicity is the key here They are so elegant too. Gwen Beautiful embossed card & flowers which have been decoupaged Joan A stepper card with a beautiful circular central topper. Thank you ladies for sending them in - certainly very different styles today. So! - Last post? Over the last year or so all 3 clubs have been getting themselves sorted out in order to continue running the clubs from now on. Remember I announced in 2019 that I would be standing back at the end of 2020 & retiring.  I will of course keep in touch & visit the meetings now & again.  But it is now time for me to hang up my stamps.  Well not literally as I will still make cards - but you know what I meant. All 3 clubs now have the way forward sorted.  C

Jayne Nestorenko

Good morning I was informed this morning, by Rita of Mold II club, that Jayne Nestorenko had passed away on Saturday evening after a long illness. I suspect that there may be some amongst you who do not know of her - but many who do. I followed Jayne's work for a long time & many of those lovely large wooden stamps that were around came into my collection beause of her enthusiasm & creativity. I particularly enjoyed using, & held many workshops at Daleside, to show how to use the Treasure Box stamps which were very popular; I cannot now remember who made those stamps & there were different sizes & you made different shaped boxes according to how many pieces you stamped.  Then of course you also had the matching medallion stamp to place on the top of the box. The crafting world is saddened by the loss of this lovely lady. Sleep peacefully Jayne.
