member showcase

Good evening everyone - I hope you have all had a good weekend.  Shame about the weather!

Tonight my post is a member showcase & it is from Betty of Mold II club who sent me a lovely card which she has made for a friend, using the free Indigo Blue set that was free on a recent Simply Cards & Papercraft magazine.

Here is the card;


It's beautiful Betty & I am sure your friend will be delighted with it.

I have that set of stamps too but haven't got around to using them yet.  Also this weekend I picked up a copy of Papercraft Essentials (I think it was essentials rather than Inspirations) - anyway that has a lovely free set of stamps on it from Lavinia's Stamps.

Another Mold II member was featured in the magazine - so I will post that on the blog tomorrow.

I am glad I am receiving samples of your work to show - but there must be more of you out there with cards to show off.  Don't be shy - email them to me.

    I just bought the mag with the Lavinia stamps and Jan picked the IndigoBlu one! I rarely buy a mag but couldn't resist that one.

    Love the card above too :)

CSNW Photos & last post

 Good afternoon ladies this afternoon I have the photos from the CSNW S&T for June. The theme I set was any theme of their choosing but using the colours red, white & blue.  Here are their cards. Amy Two nice classic style cards from Amy Grace Simplicity is the key here They are so elegant too. Gwen Beautiful embossed card & flowers which have been decoupaged Joan A stepper card with a beautiful circular central topper. Thank you ladies for sending them in - certainly very different styles today. So! - Last post? Over the last year or so all 3 clubs have been getting themselves sorted out in order to continue running the clubs from now on. Remember I announced in 2019 that I would be standing back at the end of 2020 & retiring.  I will of course keep in touch & visit the meetings now & again.  But it is now time for me to hang up my stamps.  Well not literally as I will still make cards - but you know what I meant. All 3 clubs now have the way forward sorted.  C

Jayne Nestorenko

Good morning I was informed this morning, by Rita of Mold II club, that Jayne Nestorenko had passed away on Saturday evening after a long illness. I suspect that there may be some amongst you who do not know of her - but many who do. I followed Jayne's work for a long time & many of those lovely large wooden stamps that were around came into my collection beause of her enthusiasm & creativity. I particularly enjoyed using, & held many workshops at Daleside, to show how to use the Treasure Box stamps which were very popular; I cannot now remember who made those stamps & there were different sizes & you made different shaped boxes according to how many pieces you stamped.  Then of course you also had the matching medallion stamp to place on the top of the box. The crafting world is saddened by the loss of this lovely lady. Sleep peacefully Jayne.
