a birthday card

Good afternoon everyone & what a nice day it is turning out to be - even nicer if that wind would drop.

Anyway I am here with a recent birthday card - I have looked back through the blog quickly & I don't seem to have posted it before;


The stamped image on the left is a Kaisercraft stamp - I really like their stamps & hope to be purchasing a few at Port Sunlight on Saturday.  Before that I have to try & remember who it is that brings them to the festival - I have a stand in mind so we will see how good my memory is.

The flowers & the flourishes are stamps from Dreamees.  The flourishes were stamped direct onto the background paper & the flowers onto a matching paper which were then cut out & layered over the flourishes.  I am also hoping to get some more flower stamps from Dreamees at the festival.  I love the way they work on coloured paper, patterned paper or simply coloured in - they always look good.

CSNW Photos & last post

 Good afternoon ladies this afternoon I have the photos from the CSNW S&T for June. The theme I set was any theme of their choosing but using the colours red, white & blue.  Here are their cards. Amy Two nice classic style cards from Amy Grace Simplicity is the key here They are so elegant too. Gwen Beautiful embossed card & flowers which have been decoupaged Joan A stepper card with a beautiful circular central topper. Thank you ladies for sending them in - certainly very different styles today. So! - Last post? Over the last year or so all 3 clubs have been getting themselves sorted out in order to continue running the clubs from now on. Remember I announced in 2019 that I would be standing back at the end of 2020 & retiring.  I will of course keep in touch & visit the meetings now & again.  But it is now time for me to hang up my stamps.  Well not literally as I will still make cards - but you know what I meant. All 3 clubs now have the way forward sorted.  C

Jayne Nestorenko

Good morning I was informed this morning, by Rita of Mold II club, that Jayne Nestorenko had passed away on Saturday evening after a long illness. I suspect that there may be some amongst you who do not know of her - but many who do. I followed Jayne's work for a long time & many of those lovely large wooden stamps that were around came into my collection beause of her enthusiasm & creativity. I particularly enjoyed using, & held many workshops at Daleside, to show how to use the Treasure Box stamps which were very popular; I cannot now remember who made those stamps & there were different sizes & you made different shaped boxes according to how many pieces you stamped.  Then of course you also had the matching medallion stamp to place on the top of the box. The crafting world is saddened by the loss of this lovely lady. Sleep peacefully Jayne.
