a recent card

Good afternoon everyone

Today I have a card to show you that I made back in January & had forgotten to show it to you.

As you can see it was for someones special birthday.



The base is a white card onto which I had embossed the flourish & oval frame embossing folder. The "Happy Birthday" & the "60" fitted inside the oval just right.  The HB was heat embossed in silver & I am sorry to say that the 60 was a silver peel-off.  Sadly the embossing folder left a line beneath the embossing so I put the card on my score board & accentuated the line & added a second one to make it part of the design.

The flower with the swirl was from a freebie set on an earlier magazine & the embossing folder was part of the freebie too.  I stamped the flower 3 times along the lower part of the card in silver EP then stamped it 3 times on floral paper.  The flowers were then cut out & placed over the stamped image.

Oops! I have just spotted that the right-hand flower has got bent up - I hope it didn't go in the envelope like that.

This evening it is the Mold II club night - so tomorrow I should have photos for you,

CSNW Photos & last post

 Good afternoon ladies this afternoon I have the photos from the CSNW S&T for June. The theme I set was any theme of their choosing but using the colours red, white & blue.  Here are their cards. Amy Two nice classic style cards from Amy Grace Simplicity is the key here They are so elegant too. Gwen Beautiful embossed card & flowers which have been decoupaged Joan A stepper card with a beautiful circular central topper. Thank you ladies for sending them in - certainly very different styles today. So! - Last post? Over the last year or so all 3 clubs have been getting themselves sorted out in order to continue running the clubs from now on. Remember I announced in 2019 that I would be standing back at the end of 2020 & retiring.  I will of course keep in touch & visit the meetings now & again.  But it is now time for me to hang up my stamps.  Well not literally as I will still make cards - but you know what I meant. All 3 clubs now have the way forward sorted.  C

Jayne Nestorenko

Good morning I was informed this morning, by Rita of Mold II club, that Jayne Nestorenko had passed away on Saturday evening after a long illness. I suspect that there may be some amongst you who do not know of her - but many who do. I followed Jayne's work for a long time & many of those lovely large wooden stamps that were around came into my collection beause of her enthusiasm & creativity. I particularly enjoyed using, & held many workshops at Daleside, to show how to use the Treasure Box stamps which were very popular; I cannot now remember who made those stamps & there were different sizes & you made different shaped boxes according to how many pieces you stamped.  Then of course you also had the matching medallion stamp to place on the top of the box. The crafting world is saddened by the loss of this lovely lady. Sleep peacefully Jayne.
