a recent card

Good evening everyone

Tonight I have a recently made birthday card to show you. This card incorporates stamping & another craft that I enjoy using from time to time - parchment craft.


This work is always hard to photograph - so I have darkened it a bit in the hope that the white work will show up. Also I hadn't given the parchment long enough time to relax so it looks a little bowed.

The panel is parchment craft & the butterfly & the HB are stamping, created with Versamark Ink & white EP.

It has been quite a while since I did any parchment craft & I have to hold my hand up & say I have been won over by Barbara Gray's Groovi plates.  Her take on an easy parchment craft. They take the stress out of tracing the design - but still give the beautiful work.  I have recorded recent programmes from Hochanda where Barbara demonstrates now, looking at what is achievable with her technique & I admit to being quite smitten. It doesn't take over from true Parchment Craft (known as Pergamano) but does give a big hand to learning the craft & achieving the results.  So watch this space - you may see more of this - but it will always include stamping.

I made this card for one of the club members who loves parchment card -- I do hope she liked it.

      I am glad you liked it Yvonne. Beware BG's parchment stuff - it could get hold of you. :)

CSNW Photos & last post

 Good afternoon ladies this afternoon I have the photos from the CSNW S&T for June. The theme I set was any theme of their choosing but using the colours red, white & blue.  Here are their cards. Amy Two nice classic style cards from Amy Grace Simplicity is the key here They are so elegant too. Gwen Beautiful embossed card & flowers which have been decoupaged Joan A stepper card with a beautiful circular central topper. Thank you ladies for sending them in - certainly very different styles today. So! - Last post? Over the last year or so all 3 clubs have been getting themselves sorted out in order to continue running the clubs from now on. Remember I announced in 2019 that I would be standing back at the end of 2020 & retiring.  I will of course keep in touch & visit the meetings now & again.  But it is now time for me to hang up my stamps.  Well not literally as I will still make cards - but you know what I meant. All 3 clubs now have the way forward sorted.  C

Jayne Nestorenko

Good morning I was informed this morning, by Rita of Mold II club, that Jayne Nestorenko had passed away on Saturday evening after a long illness. I suspect that there may be some amongst you who do not know of her - but many who do. I followed Jayne's work for a long time & many of those lovely large wooden stamps that were around came into my collection beause of her enthusiasm & creativity. I particularly enjoyed using, & held many workshops at Daleside, to show how to use the Treasure Box stamps which were very popular; I cannot now remember who made those stamps & there were different sizes & you made different shaped boxes according to how many pieces you stamped.  Then of course you also had the matching medallion stamp to place on the top of the box. The crafting world is saddened by the loss of this lovely lady. Sleep peacefully Jayne.
