member showcase

Good morning everyone.

Well it looks like we are back to grey & wet for the weekend - never mind I am sure you will be able to find lots of things to keep yourselves busy.

I will have a couple of posts for you today & this first one is a member showcase.  I have put it under this heading as it is in fact a late entry of a project, from Elma of Mold club, & is of the twist & pop card we did in January;

I love the papers Elma has used - they are a soft pastel colour & are old advertisements for perfumes.  A really pretty & delicate card.

Thank you for bringing it in to the meeting last week, Elma.

I know that for many reasons a project cannot always be finished during the evening so it is always nice when someone says - "I will finish it at home & bring it back next time" ---- & they do.

OK - I will be back later with the first set of photos from the CSNW meeting on Wednesday.

CSNW Photos & last post

 Good afternoon ladies this afternoon I have the photos from the CSNW S&T for June. The theme I set was any theme of their choosing but using the colours red, white & blue.  Here are their cards. Amy Two nice classic style cards from Amy Grace Simplicity is the key here They are so elegant too. Gwen Beautiful embossed card & flowers which have been decoupaged Joan A stepper card with a beautiful circular central topper. Thank you ladies for sending them in - certainly very different styles today. So! - Last post? Over the last year or so all 3 clubs have been getting themselves sorted out in order to continue running the clubs from now on. Remember I announced in 2019 that I would be standing back at the end of 2020 & retiring.  I will of course keep in touch & visit the meetings now & again.  But it is now time for me to hang up my stamps.  Well not literally as I will still make cards - but you know what I meant. All 3 clubs now have the way forward sorted.  C

Jayne Nestorenko

Good morning I was informed this morning, by Rita of Mold II club, that Jayne Nestorenko had passed away on Saturday evening after a long illness. I suspect that there may be some amongst you who do not know of her - but many who do. I followed Jayne's work for a long time & many of those lovely large wooden stamps that were around came into my collection beause of her enthusiasm & creativity. I particularly enjoyed using, & held many workshops at Daleside, to show how to use the Treasure Box stamps which were very popular; I cannot now remember who made those stamps & there were different sizes & you made different shaped boxes according to how many pieces you stamped.  Then of course you also had the matching medallion stamp to place on the top of the box. The crafting world is saddened by the loss of this lovely lady. Sleep peacefully Jayne.
