a recent card

Good evening everyone I do hope you have all been having a very good bank holiday weekend.

I haven't written a post for a couple of days, but I have done a little crafting.  In September I am showing the Mold II club the little card that has the double box on the front & folds flat for posting. So as I hadn't made one for a little while I thought I had better make sure I could still make it OK.  I decided on a Christmas one.

I have used up some pretty Christmas vellum paper I had in my stash

While making this one I found a better way to describe the putting together so rewrote my notes.  I also spotted whilst having a look around the Internet another version where the small box front goes higher up than this one.  So I will have to look at that one now.

I have also spent quite a bit of time on the Internet helping a lady research her family history - really enjoyed doing this, & at times it was quite a challenge.

Tomorrow is the August meeting for the Mold II ladies - I will be going along but as I have an early start in the morning for another hospital visit I probably won't stay too long.

CSNW Photos & last post

 Good afternoon ladies this afternoon I have the photos from the CSNW S&T for June. The theme I set was any theme of their choosing but using the colours red, white & blue.  Here are their cards. Amy Two nice classic style cards from Amy Grace Simplicity is the key here They are so elegant too. Gwen Beautiful embossed card & flowers which have been decoupaged Joan A stepper card with a beautiful circular central topper. Thank you ladies for sending them in - certainly very different styles today. So! - Last post? Over the last year or so all 3 clubs have been getting themselves sorted out in order to continue running the clubs from now on. Remember I announced in 2019 that I would be standing back at the end of 2020 & retiring.  I will of course keep in touch & visit the meetings now & again.  But it is now time for me to hang up my stamps.  Well not literally as I will still make cards - but you know what I meant. All 3 clubs now have the way forward sorted.  C

Jayne Nestorenko

Good morning I was informed this morning, by Rita of Mold II club, that Jayne Nestorenko had passed away on Saturday evening after a long illness. I suspect that there may be some amongst you who do not know of her - but many who do. I followed Jayne's work for a long time & many of those lovely large wooden stamps that were around came into my collection beause of her enthusiasm & creativity. I particularly enjoyed using, & held many workshops at Daleside, to show how to use the Treasure Box stamps which were very popular; I cannot now remember who made those stamps & there were different sizes & you made different shaped boxes according to how many pieces you stamped.  Then of course you also had the matching medallion stamp to place on the top of the box. The crafting world is saddened by the loss of this lovely lady. Sleep peacefully Jayne.
