Today I have the first set of photos from the 2014 project by Mold II club members which was to make an ATC for each month of the year.  This first set is the one created by Elma & as before I will not be making comments as I do for the monthly meeting projects and Show & Tell, but will label the photos; the cover the open folder January February & March April May & June July & August September October & November December Great set of ATC's Elma.

two birthday cards

Good afternoon everyone I hope you are all keeping warm.  I do wish the weather would make up its mind what it is going to do. I have the photos of 2 birthday cards that I made during this month to show you; This rather nice floral image is a new stamp & the set includes the verse plus the word Marigold.  So I guess that is what the flower is - but I was in a purple mood.  I don't think it matters.  I decided to do something different with the front (I had actually seen something similar when perusing the Internet). The image was coloured with my cheap "H2O style" water-colour paints. This card got the slight antique look given it by using Kraft card & black card.  The larger of the 2 flowers I stamped again & cut it out, coloured it & stuck on sticky pads over the original one. Now a strange story on this one is that I made one very similar for a club birthday card lucky dip & the person I sent this one to - also pulled the...

Mold II photos - part 3

Good afternoon ladies here I am with part 3 of the Mold II's meeting photos.  This time they are of the trial pieces that the ladies made - some really lovely work; Just to show that this can be messy work - although these hands, that belong to Carol, are not too bad really. This is Carol's sheet, with the makings of 2 cards here. This sheet was created by Carolyn - I love the texture that is in the background. Look at the depth in this page & the texture.  This is Elma's work. These 2 pages are one picture - I took a photo (the top one) then Dot, whose work it is, went on to add more detail.  The lower page is the finished item. On this one the glitter really shows up & there is a lot of depth to the page. This page was created by Annette. The start of a page here - but I don't know whose work it is. This is Sue & Sue admits to being a stamper sometimes.  So, I said I had to take a photo o...

Mold II photos - part 2

Good morning everyone - well well here it is again that soft fluffy white stuff that descends on us every so often.  It's already quite thick out there.  I popped down to Asda for some bits & pieces & got back just as it all started. So today I have the second set of photos from Mold II's meeting on Tuesday.  There will be 3 sets in all & this set is of Rita's demonstration, as the project for the evening was - "this is how you use a Gelli plate". Here is Rita in the second half of her demonstration.  Rita did this in 2 parts - the first being using the Gelli plate with acrylic paints.  In this demo Rita is showing us with inks.  I think this was the section that really won everyone over. Rita is being carefully watched by Elma, who with her comments & questions turned the demo into quite an interesting comedy duo - we did enjoy it girls. The next few photos are of samples that Rita brought in with her & you will see that ...

Mold II photos - part 1

Good afternoon ladies. Here I am again today, this time with the photos of the Show & Tell from last nights Mold II meeting.  The Show & Tell theme was an ATC with dimension, hopefully using frames &/or corners. What a cheekie little chappie he is.  The frame (where the green card shows) is a punch - the result is very effective.  This one was made by Annette. A really pretty colour combination (it is actually brown & cream - the photo looks a little yellow). The die cuts have been embedded into each other rather than layered on sticky pads. Often we get carried away with using these multi-layer dies & raise the elements - I think it makes a nice change to see it layered in this way.  This one was made by Elma. A really pretty set of 3 ATC's made by Elizabeth.  The corner die is a freebie from a recent magazine & each ATC has been covered with acetate that is raised on sticky pads & then they have been hidden by ...

Just chatting

Good morning & what a nasty morning it is - cold, wet, grey.  Think I will stay in doors. Last night saw the first 2015 meeting of Mold II club & what a great evening they had.  Rita, one of the Mold II ladies, brought in her Gelli Plates & paints & inks & demonstrated how to use the plates. I think most ladies in the room were won over - I certainly was & ordered one from Amazon as soon as I got home. Now waiting for its arrival - hopefully Friday.  Many of the ladies also had a go with some great results. I have some photos from the evening & will be loading those on to the computer this afternoon, & will blog them this evening. I am working on how I get the plates demonstrated at Mold & CSNW - bear with me ladies, plans are already afoot. 'Bye for now.
