Hello ladies Last year a colleague of mine had a book published that she had been writing & a few weeks ago we learnt that she had received an award for it. My colleague comes from India & the stories in the book are in that genre.  The award she has received the Culture award by the British Indian Society. I wanted the card to reflect her book - here it is; I copied the front cover of her book onto white card then used the Tattered Lace book die to cut the book shape. The keen eyed amongst you may notice that the cut should be the other way up.  I had so much trouble with the die that I didn't notice when I had to reposition it that I had turned it round.  But it still looks like a book shape. I also Googled the award Logo & put that on the insert.  There isn't a nasty white splat on the insert - I have masked out the group name.  She actually was officially given the award on 14 June. That is all I have for today.  ...

Good morning ladies I am just popping in to show you the special card that I made for Bob for our anniversary. I can show it to you now as it was 2 days ago & he has obviously seen it. As you know because we have a double anniversary now I try to combine the 2 in one card.  I am not sure how long I will be able to do this for as it isn't always easy to come up with a new idea. On the heart is the 4 for our 4th wedding anniversary/ Open the card & there is another gate-fold card celebrating the 32 years we have been together. The trellis is also a Tim Holtz die. Untie the bow, and............. there is the insert. There isn't tippex (if you are old enough to remember what that is) on the page. I have "painted out" my very personal message to Bob.  After all it is only  for Bob to read. The sentiment is an...

Good afternoon everyone I do hope you are having a really nice weekend. Today I am going to share with you the Valentine's Day card I made for my lovely hubby; The base card is from a sheet of Crafter's Companion white with a hint of gold card (can't remember its proper name).  The items used are from a freebie set on a recent magazine.   I used the embossing folder on red mirri card & again on the hint of gold card.  The red mirri I sanded back to reveal the core (which sadly was silver but it fitted in OK).  I then cut the heart shape from the hint of gold card embossed piece & stamped the flourish heart & "with love" onto it.  The little heart stamp that was part of the freebie I stamped in Watermark Ink & heat embossed it with scarlet EP.  I the die cut the "Valentine" & "Husband" & heat embossed them in the scarlet EP as well. I thought it worked very well & I am thinking of sending a photo of i...
