Mold II meeting last night

Good morning everyone. Last night I went along to the Mold II meeting more to socialise with everyone than anything. So I did not join in the project for the evening but my apologies for doing this, or not doing it I suppose, happily were accepted by everyone.  It was a most enjoyable evening & I hope to have photos for you soon, thanks to Carolyn. I did offer to take them as I wasn't doing anything else but she was quite happy to continue with that job. We had a rather nice surprise when at the start of the evening 2 ladies entered the hall & I heard someone say - "Ooh, who are these ladies?"  I turned thinking they were for another meeting being held at the time & was ready to tell them which room - when I realised they were for us.  One of the 2 ladies was Madeline who had been a member of the group some time back - well - 6 years to be precise, as we discovered when we asked "how long has it been?" It was really nice seeing you again Made...

Mold II meeting

Wow! what an evening that was on Tuesday - certainly a busy one. First - I was wrong about everyone having handed in their tags - Mold II's newest member Sylvia decided she would join in the project & brought her tags along on the evening.  So after I had started the ladies off on their Mixed Media project card I took photos of Sylvia's tags - because we were doing the swap during the evening. Add to that, when I asked about Show & Tell cards - I was told there were 3 sets.  The April Show & Tell - which didn't get shown in April, plus the ones for Tuesday night (May's Show & Tell). Also Rita (who had taken the April meeting with her folk art technique) had suggested the ladies bring in a piece of work that wasn't done on the evening.  Also one of our ladies will be celebrating a special birthday in June & was presented with a bouquet of flowers - which of course had to be photographed as well. The outcome is that I have lots of photos to l...

mold II meeting

Hi - I've not long been in following the delayed March meeting for Mold II.  Seven ladies made it to the meeting which is good seeing as it was put off for a week.  We all have things in our diaries which makes it difficult sometimes to change things. We had a really good evening & I will have photos tomorrow from their Show & Tell cards & also the project - which was the tea-light gift card. It looks like I have to go & bang on the counter of my car repair people again, as the locks played up again tonight - only my door unlocked when I went to get in to go to the meeting.  I had to unlock the boot separately.  When I came out from the meeting - all except the boot  successfully unlocked.  No rhyme or reason to it at all. Tomorrow evening is the April meeting for CSNW club - another evening of the tea-light card.  All 3 clubs will have made it then. So more tomorrow.  'Bye for now,

Mold II Meeting - UPDATE

Hi everyone - especially Mold II ladies I have just spoken with Karen at Parkfields Centre & we are booked in for next Tuesday - that is - TUESDAY 2 APRIL. Karen said it is deep there & we wouldn't get in.  She lives just across the road from the centre - so can walk in. I have heard from most of you as to whether you are free or not & to make sure I will email everyone again with the confirmation of next week. Take care - it is beginning to thaw - but if it goes really cold it will freeze.  I don't want to hear of any of you falling & hurting yourselves & that is not JUST Mold II ladies - its ALL of you. 'Bye for now.

SPECIAL MESSAGE FOR MOLD II LADIES

Hi everyone With the amount of snow we have had I am wondering whether we may have to postpone Tuesdays meeting.  I don't think it would all be gone by Tuesday even if we didn't get any more - but I believe there is more to come tonight. I will try & get hold of the centres office on Monday - & see if the following week is available in case we decide to move it. Let me know what you think if you read this.  Plus I will send out some emails a bit later today.

Mold II meeting

Hi everyone I have recently got home after the Mold II meeting this evening.  We had a pretty good turnout & a really pleasant evening was spent using those wood mounted stamps that were in the Christmas goodie bags. I have taken photos & will put them here tomorrow. One small change to the format of the meetings was decided tonight & that is, that for this year we will not be doing the Show & Tell as a competition.  We are going to go back to how we used to do things - & tell each other how our cards were made.  They will be put out on the table so that I can photograph them, then towards the end of the evening I will hold them up & the owner will tell us how it was made or any other useful information such as what technique was used.  We started doing it that way this evening. Well! that is all for tonight - lots more tomorrow. Sleep well & don't get blown away in this wind.

Mold II meeting - date change

Hi everyone. I have finally reached the community centre & we are OK to have the room next Tuesday (29th) - so I look forward to seeing those of you who can make it, I have sent emails out about it & will be ringing Liz & Elma. Keep safe & warm - that applies to everyone. Back later.

To meet or not to meet

................ that is the very important question. I am talking about the Mold II meeting tomorrow evening (Tuesday).  My feeling at the moment is that it would be safer to cancel - I will ring the community centre later & see what they are doing during this weather. I would have difficulty at the moment getting out of my road as a lot more snow lad during the night & it is still snowing now.  But my main concern is for conditions at the end of the evening when everything freezes.  When I ring the centre I will ask about the possibility of having the hall next week & postpone rather than cancel.  I will be back later. I will email or ring everyone today if the decision is to cancel or move. Take care everyone.

Hello again - here I am with the photos of the project from last night's Mold II meeting.  As at the other clubs it was using the technique of one layer stamping.  I like this technique, as I think I have said before, I do like the clean & simple finishes & this one works really well.  Once again, at the start I demonstrated 2 ways to use the technique - creating the look of layered torn paper on the folded edge & a torn aperture shape for a focal image.  As always the ladies tried these & also put their own slant on things & some of them were quite prolific too.  Take a look - Doesn't that "torn paper look" show off the vase of flowers well?  Very nice. This card shows that it doesn't have to be white card - colour works well too - giving this card a vintage look. The central colour was produced by using postage notes to create the shape.  The straight lines to the background gives an even fresher look & th...

Good morning everyone! Last night was the July meeting for Mold II & this first post for today is of their Show & Tell cards where the subject was Twinchies.   Mold II is the last of the clubs to make these & across all clubs I have been very impressed by the results & the decision by some ladies to present them on a card.  This is what I like when you put your own interpretation onto things.  Here are their photos; Four very different twinchies all made by the same person.  During the meeting, Annette who made these, mentioned that the free stamps that are on the Craft Stamper magazine are just right for twinchies. Another group of four, made by the same person.  As you look at these you can see that if recreated a little bigger make perfect toppers.  Mind you, I did mention on a previous post that if twinchies were then layered & matted on to other card - they would become toppers. A lone twinchie - beautifully c...

Well, I am back again Ooh before I forget - the Show & Tell photos that I showed in the last post were the colour theme - Kraft, brown & green. The project for the evening was a Rocker card;- Some of the cards are still work in progress - but it will be interesting  to see the completed card & what images will be on it. A really different base card - a masculine design perhaps? This hedgehog is really cute & I love the picket fence with the flowers growing through it. Aah!  a blue bunny - what a gorgeous card for a new baby. Some beautiful flowers making a beautiful card What a lovely classic style & how different the card looks with the main image filling the front from top to bottom A nice spring / summery card. A very proud teddy with his lovely white bow - another different approach to the shape of the main image. Wow - a lot of work on this one.  Isn't it amazing how different it l...

Here I am again this time with the Show & Tell photos from the Mold II June meeting. A nice quilt style design with a lot of work in it - very nice -  has some blue crept in there or has the camera changed the colours I love the matching sewing machine charm on this card - really sets it off What a beautiful flower - I must ask the question if it has been hand made. A very delicate card This layout is very elegant  I do like the "broken" frame  - very effective Just the right sentiment for that little bird - a great card A clever design - I am intrigued by the background paper - I shall have to ask about it at the next meeting. One of the French craft magazines I bought this year whilst on holiday, had a free rubber stamp on it - an owl.  How about that. I am now going to pop off again & pull in the photos from the meetings Project that evening. Back soon.
