Hello everyone & what a lovely day.. Bob & I have just returned from a really nice drive through the lovely Welsh countryside. We started heading in the direction of Ruthin, taking whatever road Bob chose, towards other places, then turned onto the road that would take us to the Horseshoe Pass. So, we stopped at the Ponderosa Cafe at the top & had some lunch.  Quite a few bikers out in the sunshine but didn't spot a white Spyder - Joanna ! The return journey took us down into Llangollen, then on to the A483 towards Rosset & then through the back country roads to home. Lovely!  made a really nice change. Will try & have something to do with crafting to talk about next time. Have a lovely weekend everyone. Take care. 'Bye for now.

Good afternoon everyone. Well! I am still here - sorry I haven't written anything. On Monday Bob & I decided to go for a drive & find somewhere to have a gentle walk hopefully somewhere like a canal, as I do like being beside water. We had several places in mind that would also give us somewhere to have some lunch - but several of them were closed.  Finally we ended up at Barbridge just a little along from Bunbury, where we had a gentle stroll along the canal path & then some lunch in the Inn. Yesterday I had my monthly "Ladies who lunch" Lunch which was very pleasant.  Just 8 of us but a very pleasant way to spend a couple of hours. Today I finished the special project I have been working on & will show you some photos tomorrow. That is me for now - more tomorrow. 'Bye for now.

.............. Mold II meeting tonight. Hello ladies. To start, I must apologise to Dot of  Mold II, & Mold II ladies themselves, as Dot had sent me some photos of the scrapbook pages she has been working on in order to inspired you for your meeting tonight.  A little late for ideas for tonight although I believe Dot make take them along with her - but they are here for inspiration later. So here they are; Dot creates pages for each of her days & weekends out & about. Lovely samples Dot, thank you. I was hoping to be able to pop in to the Mold II meeting tonight, but didn't have a very good night last night & then this morning I definitely felt a little off kilter. So I took myself back to bed for a while. Perhaps next month. Fortunately after my visit to the oncologist yesterday I found out that my blood count has improved so that is good news.  Another blood test & visit to her on 12 April, then hopefully my visits ...

Good morning everyone Sorry I have not been on here for a few days. I did spend a lot of Sunday back on my family history research - it was amazing how quick the day went.  As I was not feeling 100% it was the easiest thing to do. Yesterday I did not have a good day at all - very low, very tired, no interest in anything.  But today is another day & a couple of friends have invited me out to lunch so that should cheer me up, & perhaps in the afternoon I might feel like doing a little crafting. I did finish off those other notelet cards on Saturday & have found a box/holder to put sets of them in - so have to set aside some time to do that, then that will be another project completed. I hope you are all having good days.  Perhaps some crafting news tomorrow, but 'bye for today.

Good afternoon ladies - oh & the couple of gentlemen that pop in for a read as well. Today I have been sorting paperwork for the workshop in October - directions for the CSNW ladies & my garden centre ladies to get to the venue.  Also a "poster" to hand out to everyone who is attending with details of materials etc.  Poor little printer is positively smoking. I have also made 2 samples of the card that CSNW have as their project at the October meeting.  It is their September meeting tomorrow night - so needed to make them in order to take them along.  I still have to photograph them. Then there was also the programme sheets for October for them & the instructions for tomorrows project, which is Carolyn's file folder album. My friend Caroline has a lot of her stock on Sale & has given me a selection of items that I will be bringing along to your meetings.  There are some Distress Inks - the original sort - that are nicely reduced.  Quit...

quick chat

Hi everyone Just popping in for a quick chat on several things. Firstly a very big thank you for all the lovely birthday cards I received.  I will photograph them during this week & show them to you later in the week. I also have some photos of the Mold club June meeting to show you - so that will probably be later today or in the morning (Tuesday). I have had an email from Rita of Mold II club with a photo of a card that she has had featured in a recent magazine. Then this morning I went shopping & picked up a couple of he latest magazines & Rita also has a card in another magazine.  I will sort the photos later today ready for blogging. Rita also told me about the Mold II club June meeting (which I did not attend) project & other things that they did.  The main project was a card in a tin & Rita is hoping that the ladies will bring their projects to the July meeting when I will be able to photograph them for the blog. I must also say than...

Hi everyone Sorry, I am a bit late today. I had a very good evening with my demo at my Happy Stampers club meeting last night.  I really enjoyed it myself - even after going through it all 3 times. I have scheduled the same project into your programmes over the next couple of months.  The difference being I will show you by demonstrating but you will then be having a go.  Last night was just demos. But, I had a really awful journey home, as the heavens opened & it was almost impossible to see the traffic in front of you.  The temperature had dropped drastically as well & it was really cold. So much so that the rain hitting the windscreen was looking a bit flaky & my car popped up a message to tell me to beware of ice. Earlier today I received an email from Carolyn (of Mold II) to let me know that two of the Mold II ladies had been featured in another of the regular paper craft magazines.  So I will pick a copy up tomorrow so that I can feature...

Good evening ladies & it's another late evening. I have spent quite a bit of time today writing up notes for various projects that are in the pipeline - it's amazing how quickly the time goes when doing this. First I wrote the notes in draft form.  Then I tested them to make sure they made sense & obviously that they worked.  Little tweaks had to take place then the notes changed accordingly. Now to make a proper sample. Yesterday I spent a very pleasant couple of hours with one of our daughters in law.  She has asked me to make a special card for her mother's birthday as it is a special birthday this year.  So we popped over to Burley Dam garden centre & craft department for her to look at paper & card & embellishments etc. I thought it would be easier for her to get a feel of what she wanted if she saw it laid out in the shop. Much easier than rooting through my boxes.  So we got several pieces then back home I showed her some pho...

Good evening ladies - I hope you all had a good weekend. There isn't a lot to chat about but I thought I would just pop in for a little while.  I spent some time today thinking about the set of Christmas cards that I make each year for Bob to give out & had a good browse in Pinterest for ideas. Then I had to make the third sample card for the workshop I will doing in October at the garden centre.  The best design I found actually used 12x12 card & paper which isn't the best idea for a workshop - although I do have stacks of 12x12 that could be used.  So thinking a little longer I managed to get it down to an A4 sheet which would make 2 cards.  I was rather pleased with the fact that I had been able to work it out - then when I returned to Pinterest for more ideas - found that someone else had created an A4 (2 card) version & it would appear we agreed on measurements.  I also found a version using A4 card complete to make a larger version. I did...

Good afternoon ladies Well! I originally sat down here to write about, & show you, a card I made recently only to find I didn't photograph it before sending it.  I was really pleased with it too, as I did some rather special cutting out.  With craft knife!  Not a die-cut.  I may have to ask the recipient if they can take a photo of it & send it to me. I have decided I am going to try the cutting again - but probably in a different "pattern". It did make my hand hurt a bit at the end but worth it for the finish.  Ah well. Another weekend is upon us again bringing with it the end of January - where has this month gone? I hope you have a great weekend whatever you are doing.  I am hoping to have some more crafting time - so you never know I may have some photos for you - if, of course I remember to take them. This old age - it doesn't come on its own does it? 'Bye for ow - have fun.

Good evening everyone. This afternoon I started on my road back to normality after the Christmas / New Year break - I had my first workshop.  It was one of my crochet groups & it was so nice to see everyone again & see what they had made over the intervening weeks. I won't be doing quite so many workshops during this year - I have 3 crochet groups, & I have been asked to sort a rubber stamping workshop group & a parchment workshop group.  So I think that should keep me busy enough - just organising it will do that. I am sure like me your thoughts are with those people in Paris affected by these dreadful shootings & hope that the perpetrators will soon be caught. We are reaching a stage now when you wonder what atrocity we are going to hear about next.  It is so sad & very worrying. I am off to bed now - more for you tomorrow. Night night.

Good evening everyone - wow, I hope that wind is going to drop - I thought it was going to blow me over today. This morning I met with Caroline for our Christmas Stocking swap.  We met up at the garden centre behind Hulme Hall, & had a good look round then went for a coffee & a natter. I also bought another couple of small decorations - I am trying to keep up the tradition of a new decoration or ornament each Christmas.  Just small ones. Tomorrow afternoon I am off to have my hair done so hopefully I look neat & tidy over Christmas - mind you with the wind the way it is that could be a waste of time.  Then in the evening we are off to visit Gareth & Elayne, when I think we are having a take away - so that is a nice evening to look forward to. But before that we will be doing the very last of the food shopping except for Christmas eve when Bob goes to get the turkey.  Once we have that - its sit back & wait for the day. I hope all your plan...

Hello everyone Sorry I have not been here for 3 days - on the blog that is. It has been a bit of a strange couple of days.  Bob had 2 hospital trips - to do with his shingles attack & also a scan that he had had before which hadn't been visibly clear - so had to be done again.  These visits took up quite a bit of each day - but I am pleased to say the scan is clear. The other visit was to a pain clinic to do with the discomfort & pain left over from the shingles.  The specialist has altered his medication to see if that will help.  Plus for the last 4 days I have had on & off migraine attacks & they mean that I can't sit looking at the screen all that long, as I get those flashing lights which obscure my vision. It seems like everything is being thrown at me at the moment.  I am hoping if my head isn't too bad tomorrow I may manage to get some crafting done - I hope so. I did manage to have a day out with Nadine yesterday - we did a lit...

Hello hello! Sorry I didn't get back to post Carolyn's instructions for the pop-up box card on Friday - but by the time I got home from my day out with Nadine - it was time to "posh" myself up for our anniversary meal. Mind you - it would appear I need new glasses.  I was sitting talking to Bob before getting ready & he asked me if my eyes were OK.  A bit puzzled I asked why he asked.  His reply "I just wondered".  So I decided I probably needed to open my eyes.  Hmm - definitely new glasses.  There on the hearth was a black flower box with a dozen red roses in.  Now! how I didn't see them I do not know - I certainly wasn't expecting them. Anyway - here they are - just thought I would gloat for a while  :) lol We had a fantastic evening, excellent meal, a card & a rose from the hotel rounded it off. Yesterday we went over to Gareth & Elayne as I was going to show Elayne's mum how to make a box envelope (Crafters Companio...

Hi everyone Once again I am sorry there was no post yesterday but I really didn't have anything to say.  That possibly applies to this morning as well.  But it appears you prefer me to say something rather than nothing at all. Yesterday I needed to change some things around in my craft room.  I have 2 desks I work on - one has my computer & related things & the other is for crafting on.  I did change my computer desk around a little a couple of weeks ago but it still wasn't right & one of the problems was the things beneath my desk.  I keep the club boxes in the foot well under my desk which meant I couldn't sit straight on to the desk.  For weeks now I have been working at an angle & this weekend it finally did for my back.  So, something had to be done.  I also have 4 low bookcases in the room which contain boxes of craft items, papers, CD's & books.  One of the bookcases had about 5 A4 ring binders (quite thick ones...

Hi everyone I hope you have had a good weekend. Yesterday I did some more of the whitewash technique & have a couple of samples to show you which I will put up tomorrow.  Most of the day was spent with domestic tasks & spending some time trying to get my club paperwork organised for the next 3 months.  Think I have managed OK. Today we took advantage of a nice day & the fact that Bob is a little more comfortable driving now (although I think we may have travelled a bit too long) we went for a very nice drive around the countryside.  We started by taking some rubbish to the local tip, then made our way to Mold, out through Denbigh & over the Denbighshire Moors, on through the beautiful country lanes just turning off left or right as it took our fancy.  We drove out as far as Betws y Coed, & on to Llandudno then home.  We did take a break for a coffee around Betws y Coed. It was lovely seeing the countryside getting its spring gown on - l...

Good evening ladies I feel very guilty that this is just a chatting post after dangling the possibility of lots of photos under your nose. No! the photos wouldn't be under your nose!!!! It was the fact you would be able to see lots of photos here!!!!! Apart from my crochet workshop this afternoon I am sorry but the remainder of the day took a toll on my time so much so that I have not had the chance to load the photos onto my computer. I will work long & hard on it tomorrow - I promise. I try my hardest to keep this blog flowing from day to day but now & again other things get in the way & upset those plans.  Things beyond my control. My crochet workshop went well today although 2 ladies did not turn up - no explanation or apology.  But the ladies that did attend decided it was time to "grab the bull by the horns" - or - perhaps "grab the crochet hook by the yarn" & tackle a project.  I think I mentioned it the other day - a bag - u...
