some cards.......

... I have made - not stamping --- sorry! Good afternoon everyone.  I thought they had promised sunshine for today! This morning I met up with Helen from Mold II club & Jeanette who used to be a Mold II member, for a coffee & a natter.  We went to the little farm shop & garden centre in Drury - Lesters.  Nice long chat was had about all sorts of things. When I got back home I decided I should sit & do some kind of crafting, so I popped into my craft room to see what I fancied doing.  The other day I had sorted out a box of bits & pieces that I had wanted to look at before Christmas but didn't have the time to get around to doing so.  In the box were 2 packs of "Postcards".  I can't think of a better description for them.  I think I bought them off of Rita of Mold II when she brought in her little "shop" items for us. It was time to do something with them - so, firstly I mounted each one on to black card leaving a f...

Some cards

Image
Good afternoon ladies & what another miserable day - weather wise. Today I have photos of some cards I have gradually put together over the last few days.  Do you remember this design? We used it for the pointillism project back in 2014 - or possibly early 2015 for some of you. Recently I showed the technique to my rubber stamp workshop group at the Garden Centre, & whilst looking out the design for them found that I still had quite a few copies.  Well, they couldn't go to waste could they? So! I trimmed them down & coloured them in, then matted them on to black card, followed by coloured card, then onto a black base card.  All except one that is. Here is the first one; I used some rather nice felt-tip pens on this one, but actually wasn't that impressed with the finish - until I matted & layered it.  I like it a little more now. Next came these two; To colour these I used my pearlescent water colour paints...

Some cards made recently

Image
Hi everyone - after a damp start it looks like the weather has brightened up somewhat this afternoon. So, I think when I have written this I had better go out in the garden & get my plants potted up. Although I do have a new Christmas stamp I want to try - it's a "fun" one.  Still there's also tomorrow. Here are the 4 cards I made recently with a new set of stamps.  I blogged the basic stamped images last Tuesday. After giving them some thought I have distressed them & coloured them with my water colour paints. The image I then layered onto Kraft card & after trying them out on different coloured base cards - chose black. Really pleased with these & will definitely be using the images again with different techniques. I think my favourite image is the last one. I hope you all have something great planned for this weekend.  Have a lovely time whatever you are doing. 'Bye for now.

returning to some toppers

Image
Hi everyone - a short while ago I made some quick & simple cards using some toppers from a prize bundle I had won. There were 6 toppers on the sheet - 3 pink & 3 blue.  I made up the pink toppers first & today I have completed using the blue toppers. I decided on a quirky slant for this one The front cut short here & the topper added over it An easel card My box of ready made cards is growing. Tomorrow morning I have an opticians appointment - so will be busy having eyes tested & probably choosing new glasses.  Then when I get back home I hope to have a stamping session - rubber stamping that is - not feet. I hope you are having productive days too.  That's me for today - more tomorrow. 'Bye for now.

I made some cards ...........

Image
..... & they are stamped too. I had quite a good session today - I cut up some white card & embossed them with embossing folders & then made three cards using one stamp.  Well 2 stamps if you count the "Happy Birthday". Oh - Good evening, by the way. I chose 4 background folders & one frame folder - embossing 2 or 3 sheets of each. I chose white card so that I can colour to suit when I use them. The tulip spray is a stamp from Stamps Away & the Happy Birthday I have had for absolutely ages.  I was a bit heavy handed with the background colouring, as I sometimes got the ink between the embossed areas, This little scalloped edge card has been sitting around for a while waiting to be used. I could never quite make up my mind what to do with it.  Problem solved today. Once again - bit heavy with the ink on the embossed sheet.  I intended to just come over the edge - but no - I didn't quite get it right.  It's ...

A couple of cards

Image
Hi everyone - well the sun came out earlier this morning & I thought here comes that lovely weather they told us about last night.  But already it is looking grey & cloudy again.  Never mind - we cope, don't we? I thought I would pop in & show you a couple of cards I made recently - they are non-stamping ones. The first is the birthday card I made for Russ & I used some of the Crafter's Companion paper & card that came with a CD - Camden Town. Here is the card; As we all know it can be difficult making cards for men - but I liked this chunky postage stamp edged card & the bike image links to Russ's bike riding hobby.  Although I think his bike is somewhat more butch than this one - but at least the link is made. The topper came with extra elements but I just chose to use the little postcard & the Happy Birthday tag. The second card is the one I made for Russ & Nadine for their 4th wedding anniversary which falls on the same d...

A couple of cards

Image
Hi everyone, hasn't it been a lovely day? I have had a very domestic day today.  It was time for Bob & I to stock up the freezer - which we do from Costco.  So quite a bit of time was spent there purchasing Sunday roast joints & various other meal elements & other things.  Having bought them & driven home we then have to spend some time in the kitchen cutting some of it up, repackaging & placing in the freezer. So not really enough time to do some crafting.  But I still have a couple of cards made recently that I haven't shown you yet - & yes they are stamped. A very delicate birthday card which I created by stamping in Versamark & then colouring with  Pan Pastels, also I decided I didn't want plain white card - so embossed the front of the card before adding the topper. Another design using Pan Pastels - slightly bolder this time & again the actual card has been embossed to relieve that plainness. I have q...

Some cards

Good evening everyone I have been busy today getting my boxes of things ready for the fund-raising event on Saturday - I'm sure I have too much.  But then if the Christmas cards don't go I will use them for myself. I also made some bookmark "gift" cards & 3 little Christmas canvas hangings.  I will photograph them tomorrow to show you. The other cards I have been putting the finishing touches to are the ones for Bob's work colleagues & staff.  They are basically all the same design I just changed the greeting outside & the message inside. I am showing you 3 cards - one of each of the different greetings; I haven't got the light quite right - I can assure you the greetings show up better in real life than they do in the photo.  Unfortunately because of the mirri card you do get a reflection of something behind me. I really enjoyed making these - gave my e-bosser a lot of work. All my cards this year are mainly white with silve...

some cards

Good afternoon everyone Just popping in to show you some photos of the cards I have been making for this fund-raising event.  It's really just an overview photo as they are in their cello bags & in the basket ready to take. This is the basket of Christmas cards - there are about 48 in total. I hold my hand up there are not any stamped ones in there. A close up of 3 of them - at least my e-bosser got a good workout, so it wasn't all just pick & stick This is the tray with the everyday cards - birthday, thank you, get well, best wishes, congratulations, open (blank for own message).  Now, there are rubber stamped ones in this basket, along with fabric squares, embroidery on paper, iris folding, peel-offs.  Again there are about 45 - 48 cards in there. Some of them still have to have inserts which I will finish tomorrow.  Then I have to make the cards for Bob's work colleagues as we are out with them for the Company Christmas me...
