Still sorting .....

.... the craft room - but - I took a little break from it this morning & did some work on my first mixed media canvas that I made in November last year.  Perhaps you remember it? - I was never fully happy with the colour scheme & the finish so it had never got put on the wall anywhere.  I had toyed with the idea of going over it with white acrylic & redoing it - but this morning -  I Painted the top with white Gesso, & it is currently on a box drying, then tomorrow I will have to do the sides. It looks like the one coat will be enough - so then I need to decide what colour to do it with.  I am thinking sepia & vintage finish, that way it will match the mirror that I did earlier this year & the memory canvas.  Then I will be happy for them to go on the wall. Having got it this far - it was back to sorting out the craft room.  It has been worth the trouble - I now have my embossing folders & most of my dies stor...

Hi everyone Just popping in with some photos of my canvas fro yesterdays workshop. As usual I am showing you photos but not writing a lot of detail as that is already written out on my rubber stamping blog.  Please click on the link at the top of the page to visit it & see what I had to say. I am ashamedly completely pleased with my efforts; This is what was waiting at the workshop - I had had to send in the photo a few days earlier Here is the finished canvas. I hope you have all had a great weekend.  More tomorrow.  Night night for now.

Another canvas tale.

Here I am back again with photos of the other canvas Joanna from Mold club sent this one in after changing it from the way it looked on club night; You may remember the original one that was taken on the night because I told how Joanna lent me that stamp for a challenge I wanted to enter.  The clock with wings has been moved over to the left - which is the better position for it & you can see more of the background, & a little embellishment added in top right. Keep up the good work ladies - more photos please.

a canvas & some cards

Good afternoon ladies Well, a really nice evening was had yesterday with Gareth to celebrate his birthday.  We drove over to the Tava Indian Restaurant in Holt & had a lovely meal.  Now this evening we will be meeting up with my brother & nephew who are over for the weekend near Wigan where my nephew is racing.  Having not had an Indian meal since the day we returned to the UK after our Brittany holiday in June, I would lay odds on us having a second one in 2 days tonight. My brother enjoys his curries. Sadly this morning we heard that our daughter-in-law's grandmother died last night.  So a couple of sympathy cards had to be made today.  I will show you what I made - they were very simple in design. As you can see they are almost identical.  In the photo they have a blue tinge but they are actually a very crisp white with the sentiment in a pale lilac.  The little flourish is a die-cut which I made with my Sissix Sidekick ma...

Hi everyone - just popping back in quickly When I was checking I had got everything in the box for tonight's meeting I remembered I was going to print off the photo from a HSNW colleague of her canvas to take & show everyone. I have - I am pretty certain put the photo on the projects page.  After printing the photo I had a thought - so popped up to the craft room, dug out a canvas & decorated it. here it is & I will put it on the projects page too; There is some more I want to do to it - glue a cord around the edges & create a hanging loop.  as my button decorations would get in the way of any stamping I will try & find some small things to get rid of some of that negative space.  I coloured with distress Inks - Crushed Olive & (hmm, brain gone again - cant remember the name of the other one) but it was a Honey colour.  I stamped the flourish flowers with black archival ink & then punched some leaves out of thin scrap paper & ...
