Just Chatting

Good afternoon everyone. I do hope you have a really nice weekend organised, although the weather forecast is not looking too friendly is it! I am in the process of sorting some photos from the latest project that Mold club undertook this week & hope to be able to blog them here over this weekend. I haven't received any "complaints" about my decision to postpone the return to normal club meetings in the New Year, so I guess you are all OK with that.  I have received a few emails saying people are happy with the decision which is helpful. Bob & I came out of shielding this week & my first trip out was on Thursday when I went to the hairdresser.  It was quite a strange experience with masks & face protectors etc, but such a relief to have my hair sorted. The wearing of, & speaking through, the masks takes a bit of getting use to doesn't it?  But better safe than sorry.  Wales seems to be doing better than other areas of the UK - so let's hope it ...

Hi everyone. Just thought I would pop in for a little chat type post. Well, they have changed the rules & we can now go out & about a bit.  I am sure we are all feeling the same elation - unless of course you haven't had to self isolate quite as strictly as Bob & I. If you are starting to go out - have fun & enjoy the sunshine (whilst it is still with us), but continue to be safe & take care.  If everyone does this - it may hasten the time we can all get together again to share our crafting.  I look forward to it. Like a lot of people I feel unsure about going out yet - but hopefully everything will be OK.  I have an appointment with the Oncologist set for a week Thursday, so it is possible I may actually get out & visit the hospital rather than the telephone consultations I have been having recently. Right! off to my craft room to play.  Then will sort the member showcase dcards I have & start to blog those. Take care...

Hello everyone I am just popping in for a quick chat & to see how you all are.  I am not sure how many of you regularly read the blog & how many of you will be looking at it during this unusual time, but I will continue to write some posts. I have been quite busy making cards which I will show you.  Some are from using materials from my stash & on Wednesday had quite a good session doing that. I had an appointment with my Oncologist yesterday (Thursday) & she has given me my Chemo drug for 8 weeks & an appointment for May which is when she is hopeful we will start being allowed to go out again.  She did stress that my cancer puts me in the top of the most vulnerable group & that I MUST self isolate.  Fortunately I had already started doing that.  Sadly we have had to cancel our holiday next month in Brittany (France is virtually closed down anyway). I am hoping that you will carry on crafting during this period & send me photo...

Good afternoon everyone. I had hoped to have photos from the CSNW's Wednesday's meeting to show you - but we experienced a little hiccup & so the ladies are bringing their cards back, decorated,  to the next meeting which will be February.  The project card was successfully made but not decorated - so wasn't worth taking the photos.  Sorry. I have some member showcase projects to show you which I will do over the weekend. I hope you all have a good weekend & that this promised awful weather doesn't come to anything. Talk to you over the weekend. 'Bye for now.

Hello everyone - just thought I would pop in for a quick chat. I meant to say in my last blog post that I have a collection of member showcases to write up, & of course after last night's Mold II meeting there will be photos of their Show & Tell also their project cards. I will also eventually have photos of the Christmas cards I have made this year.  But I will hang back on showing you those until a little closer to Christmas when I am sure most people will have opened theirs. Have a good day. I am off to my craft room to finish some more Christmas cards & to make some little gifts as well. 'Bye for now.

Good morning everyone. I hope you had a good weekend - & yes I know it was nearly 2 days ago - but I didn't mention it in my "snow" post yesterday. I had a good crafting weekend & got started on my batch Christmas card making - the ones I do for Bob, & a couple for me for groups I am involved in.  Not the stamp clubs.  I also sorted out a remembrance day wreath for a friend by putting their name & logo behind the gap left by the poppies.  I did this last year for them as well. Then Sunday evening I felt a bit sniffy & on Monday morning I had a pretty decent cold going on.  I did try to continue with my card making but had to stop due to my poor nose constantly running. I had a fairly decent night sleep last night & still pretty sniffy this morning.  My poor little nose is red & sore. 😳  So I am dosing myself up to try & clear it.  Good job I had my flu jab a week or so ago, otherwise it might have been a lot of ...

just chatting - catch up time

Good afternoon, how are you all? I am sorry that it has been nearly a week since I last wrote a post on here - but things happened. As quite a few of you knew Bob & I were to go away for the weekend to a Naval Reunion & to meet up with one of his old friends.  This was the reason I would not be going to the stamp festival. Unfortunately on Thursday evening I didn't feel very good - really cold & shivery.  But took myself off to bed in the hope I would be brighter in the morning.  We were leaving home Friday mid-morning.  To cut this down a bit - I didn't feel too good in the morning & because of the way I felt I took my temperature.  Something I am supposed to do frequently.  It was on the high side.  You have to wait about half hour & take it again.  It was higher & not in a good place.  So Bob phoned Glan Clwyd Cancer department & they told him to take me in. We ended up being there for about 6 hours....

Hi everyone - what a lovely sunny day - this will help the winter stay away a little longer & we may get another lovely sunset tonight.  Did you see the really red one the other night & a very yellow one last night. I have been crafting since I last posted but not items I can show you just yet. Tonight is the September meeting for the Mold club - so I should have some photos for you in the next day or so.  I will be leaving shortly for the meeting so by the time you read this I will be on my way to Mold. Tonight is a special evening for Mold club - because tonight we are 20 years old - a small matter I forgot to mention to them all last month.  Have got some cake to celebrate. I hope you all have a nice evening & hopefully I will have more to write about tomorrow. 'Bye for now.

Hello everyone. Well, here we are at a Friday again so the weekend starts here.  Have a lovely one whatever you are doing. Just popped back in to offer my apologies to Macmillan Nurses, as in the paragraphs below I had spelt it wrong - McMillan - now corrected. Last week I had a phone call conversation with a gentleman whose wife used to be a member of one of the Mold clubs.  I think it was Mold II.  Wyn Williams.  Sadly Wyn passed away about 18 months ago & this was the first I had heard of it.  He had got in contact because he wondered if I could help him move Wyn's craft stash on, as he is moving to a smaller house, & hoped I would be able to raise some money to be donated to Macmillan Nurses. Yesterday Helen & I went to see Mr Williams & brought all the boxes & bags back to my house.  We had a good sort out & some things like some of her card & papers we had to throw away because they had got all creased & screwed...

Good afternoon everyone - just popping in for a quick chat today. Last night was the September meeting of the CSNW group, when I am pleased to say, everyone was there.  We had a bit of a mixed evening as there was the Show & Tell carried over from last month as we only had 3 ladies that time.  Plus there was also some more diorama cards made in different sizes which I was very pleased to see. Elvena very kindly took the photos last night so when she has had time to sort them & send them to me I will post them here as normal.  Here is a photo of the sample card I made for the evening; A simple but effective diagonal flap card. In the process of showing this card last night I ended up with the basis for 4 cards - so I now need to use up some of my stash papers to complete them.  Probably do that tomorrow whilst sitting at home waiting for my car to have its annual service & MOT. That's all for this time. Just wanted you to know I was st...

Hello everyone - I hope you are keeping well. I was hoping that by now I would have had some of my work to show you - but I decided before I started doing anything else I had to tidy my work area.  That is to say - my desk. It's still a bit messy around other areas in the craft room but at least I can see to work on my desk. In a post back on the 11th July I showed a couple of cards I had made using items from my stash & said I would return to that subject later.  Well, later has arrived. Here is the next load of stash to be worked on; Look at it all & I am sure there is ore lurking in a box somewhere.  It is a mixture of encaustic wax pieces, dry embossed pieces, background pieces from trying out different colouring techniques, & much more. So! the next stage is to stamp, die-cut, colour, stencil & find layers etc to turn it all into something more useful. Watch this space. That's me for now - more soon. 'Bye.

So what have I ..................

.............. been doing the last week or so. Good afternoon everyone - I hope you are all well. Well! what have I been doing over the last week or so? This is what I have been doing ..................... I have been looking for projects, writing up the notes, sorting some card & paper etc to make samples. The notes right at the front & the card & paper under it have now been dealt with.  The papers went back in my 12" x 12" box & I chose some A4 card & paper instead.  During the afternoon (today) I made two samples of the card ready for one of the meetings. So that's one down & several more to go. That's me , a quick visit today. 'Bye for now.

Hi everyone. Well, my mojo popped back in today - hooray - I just hope it stays with me now.  I managed to get some samples ready for future projects, all the paperwork for tonight's meeting at CSNW & 4 birthday cards that are due. Whew! I think I now need to lay down in a darkened room.  But no - it is the June meeting of the CSNW ladies tonight - so I will popping along there. I hope that I will have photos for you tomorrow, from the meeting. That's me for today - just a quick pop in. 'Bye for ow.

Good afternoon everyone. So! did you all go to the Stamp Festival at Port Sunlight?  I hope you found lots of lovely things to buy, & look forward to hearing all about it at your meetings. I haven't done much in the way of crafting the last few days.  I have actually made 2 cards but cannot show them to you yet as the people they are for have not yet received them. I am still finding it hard to get my mojo working on something new.  I don't mean a new craft, or project - just making new things. I sit at my desk & dig out card, papers, stamps & then just look at them - nothing jumps into my head as to what to do. I am hoping it won't last much longer.  I am sure there is something waiting just around the corner to make me sit up & say - "Hey, I know what I can do" .  So, if you hear a loud shriek it will be me finding my mojo again. Yesterday (Sunday) we had a lovely day with Gareth, Elayne & the little one.  Mind you Gwion is gr...

Hi everyone - my, but it has turned cold, hasn't it? I didn't get a chance to write anything yesterday as it was hospital visit day - just the normal 4-weekly one. On Wednesday evening we had the special April meeting of the CSNW group & a very nice evening it was too.  When all the business of the meeting was done & we had made the project card - the ladies brought out cakes, nibbles & drink to celebrate - a real party evening. Elvena kindly, as usual, took photos of the cards for the Show & Tell, and also for the project & will be sending me those later to put on the blog. Well!, here we are at another weekend so I hope you have lots of things to do & have a lovely weekend. That is all from me today.  Take care. 'Bye for now.

Just chatting - for now

Good morning everyone & another beautiful sunny day.  It is so hard to believe we are still in February it feels very spring like. I am just popping in for a quick chat to let you know that I have been feeling quite a bit better over the last few days & have actually got some of my mojo back & have been crafting. Last night (Tuesday) was the February meeting of the Mold II club & we had a very pleasant evening. I took the photos for the evening & will be showing them here over next day or two, because I have the photos from the Mold meeting last week to show you first. I have fallen a little behind with various updates to be done to the blog pages - so I will also be tackling that today - so do check back later - perhaps tomorrow to give me a chance to do it all. I am now going to sort the photos from the Mold meeting & will be back to blog those for you. 'Bye for now - enjoy the rest of this lovely day.

Hello everyone I hope you are all well. With regard to myself I am getting there although I am still very tired.  Even so I did manage to go along to the Mold meeting last night & I managed to demonstrate the project for the evening. Very tired again when I got home. Chatting with the ladies did lift my spirits quite a bit so I am hoping now that I can go forward a little more & get myself out of this tired stage. I am also hoping that the evening may have given my mojo a bit of a kick & I can start crafting again.  Thank you ladies for cheering me up. Although I did manage to stay all evening I didn't take the photos - Joanna very kindly agreed to take them (well I think I might have twisted her arm up her back a little  😉) - so I am looking forward to receiving those when Joanna has time to send them, & showing them to you. Well! its a weekend again so I do hope you have lots of nice things planned.  It looks like this sunshine may be aroun...

Hi everyone Just popping in to say that I am not feeling too good.  Got a bad cough & a bit of a sniffle - feel awful.  So if I don't post for a couple of days you know why. Keep yourselves free of colds etc - bye for now.

.............. a little chat. Good afternoon everyone - how are you all?  I hope you had an enjoyable New Years Eve & New Years Day, as well as the Christmas week. I suppose our Christmas started properly when we visited our Grandson on Christmas Eve - obviously also our son Gareth & his wife Elayne.  😊  We spent a lovely afternoon & evening with them & got to see Gwion open his presents from us. The visit was rounded off with a family Chinese take-away which was most enjoyable, before driving home. Our Christmas Day was spent with our son Russell & his wife Nadine. They came around to us about 11:00 am & Nadine assisted Bob with cooking Christmas dinner.  This is the second Christmas I have not done anything toward the Christmas meal & shall be forgetting how to cook. 😍 We spent a very pleasant time opening a few presents & chatting about all sorts of things, after an excellent meal. Then the festive season was rounded off w...

... along with a special note for CSNW ladies. Hello everyone. Last night saw the final meeting of 2018 for the CSNW group & Elvena once again took photos for me which I hope to be able to share with you in the next day or so. The special note for the CSNW ladies is - we were so enjoying our mince-pies & drink that I forgot to hand out the notes of your project.  I have put them in your club box to bring in February - your first 2019 meeting.  If anyone is wanting to make another card & needs the notes, then email me & I will email you a copy. I have to set myself the task over the next few days to complete my Christmas cards & address them & get them sent out.  Then I will be able to sit back & relax & perhaps have a play with another side of my craft interests. Hope you have a good day More soon 'Bye for now.
