... some work in progress items. Good morning everyone - I hope you all had a good weekend.  On Saturday we had a visit from Gareth & Elayne & we ended the visit with popping out to lunch - which was very nice.  Quite a good family week - because last Monday we had a meal out with Russ & Nadine.  I love those days. The work in progress? Well I sometimes decide to do things then forget to go back & finish them.  Well, not forget actually - but caught up in other things.  So when I caught sight of the box with all the stamped flowers in, I thought it was time to finish by making actual flowers with them. Remember this box? Flowers cut out ready to put together. They now look like this and this and this and this (sorry - that one is a bit blurry) and finally - this This is all I am left with. They will get used - sometime. Tonight I am off to my Happy Stampers meeting - so must go & p...

playing with flowers still

I am sorry I didn't blog yesterday but I was having a really nice day out with a friend.  We had a lovely day out at Boundary Mill in Colne.  I needed some new things for a holiday, & we found some craft things in their small craft shop. But I did get the chance to have a little more play with making paper flowers on Monday evening & took some photos to show you - this time I made them using punches & the ones I used were the Tonic Petal Pairs; Although these punches are called petal pairs - for this session I used them individually, rather than together - that will be another session. I wanted to see if I could make rose-style flowers.   The centre of this one got a bit squashed. This one has turned out better - but I will make another one to try & get better movement into it & a tighter central bud. I decided to try something different when I got to this punch & cut each of the petals in half then layered them to...

A little play

Good morning everyone. As you watch TV & read magazines - all craft orientated of course - there is a strong lean towards flowers.  Making them in many different ways.   When I see some of the lovely punches being advertised & sold I think, perhaps I should buy one of those.  But then in a rational moment I realise I have many methods in my stash to make different flowers. I do have some dies, I have quite a lot of stamps, I have punches, I have moulds in order to make them from air-drying clay.  So! - I do not need anymore ways - until I have used some of these a little more & perhaps discover that all that is not enough. So, after tidying my desk yesterday afternoon, & catching up on some paperwork & spending a little time on my family tree I decided to try one of my stamps out. I have had this particular stamp quite a long time - it is one of CaroLines early stamps & I have a couple of other styles too.  I stamped several of t...

............ I have a couple of photos for you until then. Today we are having our annual check of our gas boiler & fire system - as always they have given a large time gap that they can call in.  For us it is between 12:00 & 6:00. This morning has been a clean the house morning.  Now it is waiting time for the Gas Board visit & that means I cannot really settle to anything.  This evening I have to pick up Russ & Nadine from Chester station & they get in at 7:00 - so I hope the Gas Board are not going to leave us to the end of the day. Right! the photos.  I have taken photos of the 2 boxes of flowers that are waiting for me to start working on for our wedding in April.  They are for the table decorations. There is quite a lot of greenery in this top box - it has the leaves from the roses.  I bought several "bouquet's" then stripped them down - cutting out the thick stems that I don't want. This box has the larger flow...
