Gelli plate play

Image
Good afternoon everyone - how is your weekend? This morning I have been having a play with my new toy - the Gelli Plate.  I decided to purchase the 6x6 size as I thought I would get more use from it rather than a bigger one.  I did some research on the Internet & You-Tube to add to the information I had gleaned from Rita's demo & have decided I will probably purchase a small one for use with tags as I absolutely love some of the things I saw. My play today was with Adirondack inks as stamping is what I mainly do - but in the week I am going to try some acrylic paints as well. Here are my first efforts - they weren't produced to any theme, or for an end use - just play; On this, my first attempt, I merely brayered 2 colours of ink, then stamped the fairy into one corner of the plate with black ink.  I then placed my piece of card & "pulled" the print.  See, I have even picked up the technical terms :).  Afterwards I stamped the image agai...

Mold II photos - part 3

Image
Good afternoon ladies here I am with part 3 of the Mold II's meeting photos.  This time they are of the trial pieces that the ladies made - some really lovely work; Just to show that this can be messy work - although these hands, that belong to Carol, are not too bad really. This is Carol's sheet, with the makings of 2 cards here. This sheet was created by Carolyn - I love the texture that is in the background. Look at the depth in this page & the texture.  This is Elma's work. These 2 pages are one picture - I took a photo (the top one) then Dot, whose work it is, went on to add more detail.  The lower page is the finished item. On this one the glitter really shows up & there is a lot of depth to the page. This page was created by Annette. The start of a page here - but I don't know whose work it is. This is Sue & Sue admits to being a stamper sometimes.  So, I said I had to take a photo o...

Mold II photos - part 2

Image
Good morning everyone - well well here it is again that soft fluffy white stuff that descends on us every so often.  It's already quite thick out there.  I popped down to Asda for some bits & pieces & got back just as it all started. So today I have the second set of photos from Mold II's meeting on Tuesday.  There will be 3 sets in all & this set is of Rita's demonstration, as the project for the evening was - "this is how you use a Gelli plate". Here is Rita in the second half of her demonstration.  Rita did this in 2 parts - the first being using the Gelli plate with acrylic paints.  In this demo Rita is showing us with inks.  I think this was the section that really won everyone over. Rita is being carefully watched by Elma, who with her comments & questions turned the demo into quite an interesting comedy duo - we did enjoy it girls. The next few photos are of samples that Rita brought in with her & you will see that ...
