family Christmas cards

Good evening everyone - here I am again with more photos of recent Christmas cards I have made - this time the ones for the main family members. These two cards I made for the boys & their wives - Gareth & Elayne had the top one that was in gold tones & the other one for was for Russ & Nadine in silver tones. I used a white large square scallop edged card for both & chose background papers from some Christmas pads that I had bought at the Range.  The die-cut tree has been cut from mirri card & a "Merry Christmas" peel off layered onto a small piece of matching mirri card. For the eagle eyed amongst you - yes - the silver tree is slightly on the wonk. This is the card I made for Bob. Again I used a white large square scalloped edge card layered with silver background sheets - one of which is patterned (these were from the same paper pads as above). The top layer is a red holographic mirri card topped with a die cut tag crack...

.... Christmas cards I made. As I said in an earlier post I have photos of the few styles of Christmas cards I made. I have been back through the photos shown this year & I don't seem to have shown them before today - so if I have missed spotting them I apologise - I did start making them quite a while back. I made these using card kits which were freebies with a magazine. They are from Hunkydory; I made a variety of shaped cards based on the size of the toppers. This last photo shows a DL card from a pack I had bought some time ago which had an embossed border.  I decided to highlight the border using Gilding Wax.  But I was a little disappointed  in the result - my waxes have gone a little hard & it is awkward to use it lightly. If anyone knows of a foolproof method to revitalises them I would really appreciate it. Tomorrow - more Christmas cards that I have made. 'Bye for ow.

some of my cards

Good evening ladies. Tonight I have some more of my Christmas creations to show you; I have quite a lot of these DL cards & often forget to use them.  For this one I embossed the top section leaving enough room at the bottom to stamp the sentiment.  The snowflakes were part of a freebie on a magazine which I die-cut out along with silver mirri card to back them, then hung them on silver ribbon. For this card I actually had some silver poinsettias left over from the ones I stamped for the frame card that Carolyn introduced us to.  So waste not want not - I cut them out & trimmed one of the layers a little smaller then put them together with sticky pads.  A spare piece of white card was embossed then layered onto silver paper, along with the sentiment being layered in the same way. Then I made this card taking a totally different approach. A red card, with a gold layer & a piece of white embossed card coloured with red Distress Ink ...
