two more workshop cards

Image
Good morning everyone. I had quite a good day yesterday in my craft room.  I did a little tidying up (especially the stuff I had left strewn across the spare bed), but then as I worked more stuff got put there - so it needs clearing again. Ah well. Whilst crafting I had a play with another album idea.  Then I settled down to put together 2 more of the items I had made & brought home from the Saturday workshop a couple of weeks ago. The two pieces I used were the long narrow pieces. This is what they looked like when I brought them home & showed them to you before. Here is the green shaded one made into a card. I haven't put a sentiment on it so I can use it for whatever occasion comes up. I added some bling on the stamens & after putting it together decided to "lift" the flower a little more & painted it with a green Distress Ink. I layered it onto black card then green card before attaching it to a white base card. This is the o...

recent cards

Although I have to own up to them not being stamped. That is because they are samples for a workshop that the garden centre would like me to put on for cards that are a little different & with a Christmas theme. Anyway - good afternoon everyone & what a lovely day.  It is so good to see this sunshine. The cards I have made for the workshop are recent club cards - although in fact one of them you haven't made yet.  I have 2 to show you then I am working on another one which I will probably show you Friday, as I won't have enough time tomorrow. Here are the 2 cards; The first one is the Bendy card Yes - I know this is not a Christmas one - but they suggested that after I started making the sample. & the second one is the z-fold card you will be doing later. Well, tonight I am off to do my rubber stamping demo / talk.  It is the first one in ages.  I really had to reel myself in as I kept thinking of things to take & show - I...

My workshop projects

Image
I suppose projects is not quite the word - but they are not cards either. What we mainly did was to learn techniques using the materials that the retailer had brought along for us to try.  You will see that my 2 photos seem to show exactly the same techniques & you would not be wrong - you will find out why. Mainly the techniques were showcasing some of their very own designed products.  I was right yesterday by the way it was called flitter glue - well actually Flitter Glu.  It is a great product & is used for stamping which then various products can be applied to the surface.  Yesterday we used Pan Pastels, Gilding flakes, mica powders & glitter - well they were the things that were demonstrated. Here is the first one The dark surround to the work is the cloth that I laid the work on to photograph it.  Although there is also a layer of black card that the background sheet is layered onto.  So basically - black card, decorated white...

photos of my workshop cards

Good evening ladies As promised I have popped in tonight to show you the cards I made on yesterday's workshop - & I have also taken a photo of the set of stamps I won in the raffle. These 3 cards were made during the morning session, then during the lunch break Val showed how to use the PanPastels, which was handy as I had bought some at the festival but couldn't get near anyone to see their demo clearly.  Then for the afternoon session she showed us some more techniques using distress inks.  So basically we then played with those ideas.  I was beginning to flag a little - so I have brought my play samples home to use on cards sometime later. Here are the cards from the morning play; The backgrounds were created by blending 3 colours of distress inks with brushes & this card uses the same image twice. This card uses 2 more of the stamps from the set - the large flower with script & the corner / border stamp The final card uses the la...

cards for workshops

Hello ladies My what a beautiful day - will it last over the bank holidays? Today I have got the photos of the 2 cards I made for my workshop yesterday.  I am afraid the caught in crystal one is not very good.  I tried several different ways of taking it.  Without the flash wasn't any good & with the flash you get a light in the middle & the stamped image on the front was not so clear either.  But the colours have come out well.  In fact I have so enjoyed playing with this technique again that I am going to make up a couple of sheets with different inks & just save them for backgrounds.  The spotlight technique is very simple & basic.  Here they are; The other card I have to show you is the very quick card I made for my friend who had just become a grandmother for the second time.  There is stamping on it so I do save face; Isn't that pram cute?  It's from a range by the maker "Kars" & they are all small stamps....
