My mini album so far

Image
Good afternoon everyone. Today I thought I would show you how my file folder album is going.  Not the one I started at the club meeting but the second one, when I had found nicer matching & toning papers to use for a more cohesive finish. The front cover The inside cover & first page. I have added a little pocket on one side & a tag flap on the other. The right hand page is also part of the top loading pocket page & holds a large tag  (you can just see the thread pull) The next 2 pages On the right hand side I have added a waterfall photo album.  It will hold 10 small photos, as each page is double sided. The right hand page is also part of the side loading pocket & holds a large tag. Again you can just see the pull thread at the side. The next 2 pages   So far only the right hand page has had something added to it. This time I have added a very narrow pocket into which I have put a mini album. This ri...

my file folder album

Image
Good morning everyone I hope you all had a good weekend. I have a couple of photos today of my File Folder Album, as shown by Carolyn at the Mold meeting on Thursday last. This is the front cover - not a lot going on at the moment. Then this one shows the pages. Those centre pages are the same colour but not the same pattern I am very cross with myself because I sat down yesterday (Sunday) to complete adding the pages & was doing quite well when I discovered that I must have folded one of the sections wrong - because some of the print on the folder shows.  It's only a little bit - but it is at the top of a page & shows. So I spent some time thinking about how I could hide that & then spotted something else. Now! with a project of this type it is important to think the steps through, prepare for them & then put together without mistakes.  Yes! well it is all very well for me to spout that information providing I abide by it myself. ...

My MDF heart

Image
Good morning everyone Today I have photos of the MDF heart that I decorated, & which I started at the Mold II meeting late last month; This is the back of the heart which I covered with a blue & white Snowflake designer paper & added a die-cut fancy Merry Christmas to put on it. This is the front, which I painted with a mixture of acrylic paints to arrive at this shade of blue which is as close as I could get it to the colour of the paper on the other side. (In real life it is a little more subdued than this - but not much). I die-cut some Poinsettia petals out of white paper & blue & white snowflake designer paper.  I glittered the edges of the blue shapes - a slightly unusual thing for me.  Having worked out where I wanted the poinsettias I then stamped the sentiment, which as I did on the black heart - I stamped with white gesso.  I then glued the white flowers in place, followed by layering the blue flowers & then placing a ...

My workshop project

Image
Good afternoon ladies. I thought today I would show you the MDF mirror that I decorated in the workshop I attended on Saturday. The middle section is the mirror & it looks a little funny at the moment as I have not removed the protective covering. Here are someclose-ups of the squares / Jigsaw pieces; The 3 pieces like the one on the left in this photo - have been painted in a beige colour that has a hint of green in it.  The decoration is texture paste through a stencil (or mask). At the moment I am thinking of adding colour too those pieces  using pan pastels to get a delicate colouring.  It will be fiddly as the stencil was Carolines - so I haven't got it to place over the texture paste whilst colouring it. So if I am going to do it it will have to be when I am feeling very relaxed & steady handed. I would rather like to do another one using a similar technique as in our mixed media card. But as I am not sure wh...
