a challenge card

Hello everyone I hope you have all had a great weekend. Do you know Saturday seems so far away I can't remember what we did other than the shopping.  But yesterday we popped over to see Gareth & Elayne & ended up going out for a bite to eat with them - so that was a very pleasant few hours. During the morning yesterday I made a card for a challenge blog - it was the CD Sunday challenge that I quite often enter.  The theme this time was "Happily ever after" - so as I have a couple of anniversary cards to make I thought it would be an opportunity to get one of them made.  Here is my card; The image & background are from a Joanna Sheen CD called "Dancing with shadows" & I have used one of the fancy easel cards with the die cut top.  The sentiment was no longer in its packet so I have no idea whose make it is. The tulips were left from a previous card & they were perfect for this one too.  The background to the image was a sort of butt...

A challenge card

Image
Hi everyone Well, I did get a card made this afternoon.  I nipped upstairs while Bob & Gareth were watching the rugby.  It's a card for a challenge at CD Sunday, where the theme was scallops. I nearly didn't make it as the challenge closes tonight in time for a new one tomorrow.  All week I had been saying to myself I should get on & make it, but this lethargy just got in the way. Here is the card; The shapes were cut with some new dies I have which I bought from Purple Butterfly Crafts & I can't remember the make.  They aren't Nestabilities., I cut the base card with the largest of the dies & then cut the layers with each of the smaller dies. The papers, borders, little flower & main image were all off a My Craft Studio set of CD's. I just can't get over how realistic the roses look in the main image.  I haven't done any decoupage - it is just a flat image.  It shows how good the photography is.  That is - t...

A day for challenges

Image
Good evening ladies A day for challenges?  Yes - crafty ones!  Today I have entered two challenges.  One is for the CD Challenge that I now enter regularly & the other one is a stamping one on a blog challenge I have not entered before. I will show you the stamping one here & if you would like to see the CD one you will have to hop over to my personal blog to take a look.  You can do that by clicking HERE - unless of course you have it already on your Favourites. The stamped card was done for a challenge over at "CRAFT Challenge" where rather than a theme this week it was a sketch.  Here is the photo of the card & I will tell you about it after; As you can see I have used stamps from Card-io , in fact the watering can idea that Wendy demonstrated at each of the clubs when she visited. The background paper was left over from a card I made for another challenge recently.  The pink card was part of a pack that I purchased some time...

200 blog posts!

Wow! a milestone reached.  This is the 200th blog since I started this "new" website. Today I joined in one of the challenges that I enjoy doing.  It is the one for the CD Sunday Challenge where the theme is Wild Theme.  I used a Joanna Sheen -  Jayne Netley Mayhew image of a beautiful owl.  If you click HERE you can pop over to my website & take a peek - if you wish. As it says on that blog - I am now off upstairs to do some more crafting. Chat again later.

Gareths birthday card & a challenge

Image
Hi everyone Not long returned from our meal out with Gareth for his birthday. I think he liked his card - although he did point out I had made a mistake.  Here it is............ and a side view The mistake?  Although I was careful to pick a character with a red shirt because Gareth supports Liverpool FC - this little guys shirt has a black chevron on the front - which is Man U.  Men & their football!!!!!!!!!!! I was really pleased with this little card. I made it using a download from Crafts-U-Print .   The background paper I had left over from making other football cards.  I even did a bit of 3-d work & you know how that is not my favourite thing. Crafts - U - Print is a great site for downloads & has been helpful for me out of a couple of tight spots, when I just don;t have the right thing in stamping. So there we are - mystery over. I have another photo to show you too.  My entry for the CD Sunday challenge, which ...
