.............. a little chat. Good afternoon everyone - how are you all?  I hope you had an enjoyable New Years Eve & New Years Day, as well as the Christmas week. I suppose our Christmas started properly when we visited our Grandson on Christmas Eve - obviously also our son Gareth & his wife Elayne.  😊  We spent a lovely afternoon & evening with them & got to see Gwion open his presents from us. The visit was rounded off with a family Chinese take-away which was most enjoyable, before driving home. Our Christmas Day was spent with our son Russell & his wife Nadine. They came around to us about 11:00 am & Nadine assisted Bob with cooking Christmas dinner.  This is the second Christmas I have not done anything toward the Christmas meal & shall be forgetting how to cook. 😍 We spent a very pleasant time opening a few presents & chatting about all sorts of things, after an excellent meal. Then the festive season was rounded off w...

Some more Christmas cards

Good morning everyone. This morning I have the remainder of those Christmas cards I made the other day, to show you. This last one needs a sentiment - as it is a larger space - I thought I would take my time thinking about which one to use & how to use it. Did you spot my error in the blue card in the earlier post?  The sentiment was at the side of the topper seemingly the wrong way round.  What actually happened was it was correct until I picked the card up & found that I hadn't checked that it was the right way round.  I managed to remove the topper & re-position it, but not sure I will leave it like that. Well it is time for another weekend.  I hope you have lots of nice things to do.  If you are using the weekend for fireworks - please take care. 'Bye for now.

Some more of my cards ........

.............. the Christmas ones I made. This time I have the card I made for our grandson & the one for his big brother; Oops, this looks a little out of focus.  The Santa was in a kit along with the parcels & the paper came from some in a magazine.  I decided that Santa really needed to look a little more real so I covered his hat rim & bauble, his beard & clothes trim with glue then stuck on cotton wool from those little cotton wool balls . This card was for his big brother, Iwan & the topper was the front half of some gift tags I bought which I thought made nicer toppers than tags. The backing paper was layered onto some holographic red card to tie in with the red edges of the topper. This was a smaller card, also for Iwan, into which we put some money for his Christmas present. This was then placed in an envelope inside his Christmas card above. Some more Christmas cards - the adult family ones, tomorrow. Now that Christ...

Good afternoon ladies Just popping in with a couple more of my cards to show you. I think apart from the one for Bob - most of the remaining cards I have to show you are all Card-io style. I still have a few more as well. 'Bye for now.

Good evening ladies This evening I have a couple more of my Christmas creations to show you; This Christmas wreath was part of a freebie set on a magazine recently. I found that one of my scalloped circle dies was just the right size to cut it out. This was another of my "quick" designs.  I coloured the background card with Fired Brick Distress Ink & then used a circle stencil / mask with a wet wipe to remove some of the ink & create the circles of light. The Christmas & the Poinsettia clock are from a Steam Punk Christmas set I bought a couple of months ago. Well that is me for today.  I hope your weekend is going well. 'Bye for now.

Good evening ladies. Well, I braved the local shops this afternoon for some bits & pieces .... I really do not enjoy shopping much these days, which doesn't sound full of Christmas spirit does it? I picked up the last of the Christmas presents I had to buy & also sent a large pile of cards. By the way are you aware that the Post Office (that's the shops - not the Royal Mail - which is the post) are going on strike from Sunday 19th for a week.   (Edited after posting - that should read Monday 19th)   So make sure you go to the Post Office for anything you need before Sunday. I thought I would underline that paragraph to make it stand out. Here are 2 of my recent cards on which I used dies & embossing folders; I really like this embossing folder - but I did use it for some of my cards last year - so this is probably its last outing for a while. Despite some very frustrating attempts to use this Crafters Companion die I finally managed to get one...

Hi ladies. Before I show you the cards I have to apologise to Rita, Carolyn & Yvonne who left comments on the blog at various posts which I have only just found. Blogger, every so often changes the way things work & it has changed the first screen that I see when I log on to work.  Before when there were comments waiting to be published they were very clear to see - it is now behind another tab.  So thank you ladies I have now published them under their original post. So a few more cards that I have made for Christmas; A pretty easel card - I really like that little angel stamp & have used it just recently again on other cards. I don't think I have shown these before.   These are the ones I made for then non-crafting group I am part of. I seem to remember talking about them but don't remember, & cannot immediately spot having blogged them before. That's me for this afternoon - more tomorrow.

Good evening everyone - I hope you are all well & not feeling to rushed as Christmas weekend draws closer. I have some more of my creations to show you tonight. I still seem to be making cards but when I looked at my list as I finished some this evening I find I am almost done.  Just a few more - then I must sit & think of how I can going to make the card for Bob. We learnt some great things this year - techniques & designs that I am spoilt for choice as to what to use. Here are some more of my cards; As you can see I am completely in love with Card-io stamps & ideas. Have to go out tomorrow for some shopping & post some of my cards. Will show you some more of my cards tomorrow.l 'Bye for now.

Some of my later Christmas card makes

Image
Good evening Well as I said earlier I am back to show you some of the later designs of the Christmas cards I made. These first two are of the embossed designs - I am sure I haven't shown them to you yet, although they may be similar to others; Next are some of those made from kits, part of a large pack from Hunkydory, that I won towards the end of 2014 -- I think it will all get used eventually; This next one is a digital design which I made for one of my non-rubber stamping groups; The final two are rubber stamped; That is all of them now.  Now it is time to get into birthday card mode & I have quite a few to make for January - especially the first couple of days. That's me for today.  Back tomorrow I hope. 'Bye for now.

Good evening ladies Before I show you these Christmas cards I must make another apology about "typo errors".  You may remember a little while ago I had a problem with my computer & updated to Bob's computer as he had bought himself a new one. Well, it is since using this computer that I have been having these problems. I am not saying the computer is faulty - but I find the keyboard strange in some way & can't quite work out what way. As I type, letters are missed & there is no rhyme or reason to it. Once I have finished typing my post I do run it through a spell check option but of course some words do not get picked up as wrong.  So, unless I re-read it after the spell check I don't spot the errors. I will try & sop this happening.  Having said that - look - I typed "stop" & it put "sop". What did it do with my t? I definitely typed one. Anyway onto Christmas cards.  The ones I am going to show you today are more or le...

More Christmas cards

Image
Hi everyone. Well I have some more cards to show you that I made today. Recently I was asked if I would make some Christmas cards for the people who attend the monthly lunch I go to.  So, getting an idea yesterday - I set to & printed off the images I wanted to use, having taken them through Serif Craft Artist.  I produced another set which I cropped so that I had just the little character that was on them. The images were Christmas Postcards & they fitted perfectly on 6x4 cards.  I stamped & embossed "Joy to the World" on the right hand side of the postcard, then layered them onto scalloped edged cards.  The extra cropped images I used to decoupage them.  I also, unusually for me, added glitter to the furry or snowy parts of the images. I have only made 12 - & will probably have to make some more, but I won't know the exact number until just before the lunch - it's our Christmas one about second week of December.  So after fi...
