some more of my cards

Hi everyone - I hope you have had a good weekend. Yesterday we spent some time with Russ & Nadine.  They had come round so that Russ could help Bob move an old large Freezer (seeing as we now have a new one), & he also helped me put some of my new larger flower tubs on the garden as well.  I will have photos for you later in the week how my garden changes are going.  Then in the evening we went out for a meal to celebrate Nadine's birthday which was earlier in the week.  Sadly we were not joined by Gareth & Elayne as they had booked tickets for a show & there goes my mind again - I can't remember what it was they were going to see. So! I have some more photos to show you of cards I have been working on & at the moment they are those pack cards that I have been making up for a while now.  I have some new packs to make up too - because when I went out with Nadine on Wednesday & we went to the Range in Bangor I bought some Pollyanna Pick...

A recent card

Hi everyone - hope you are well & wasn't it a gorgeous day! Tonight I have a photo of the New Home card I made for Gareth & Elayne who moved into their new home on Monday; I actually spotted this stamp at the Paper-craft fair in Wrexham last Saturday & thought it would make a great card for them.  A little earlier I had also found another house stamp - but that was a little oldie worldie cottage scene.  When I saw this one I thought it was more appropriate. I stamped the roof a second time & put sticky pads along the bottom edge & sticky tape along the top edge. It made the roof stick up a little which I quite liked.  The image was water-coloured with my trusty inexpensive -pearlescent water-colour paints.  The stamp had 3 little hearts coming out of the chimney so I looked out a gem heart just the right size to stick over one of them.  On Sunday we are going over to see the new house - very exciting. I have also over the l...

Good afternoon ladies Ooh what miserable weather today.  I hope you all had a pleasant weekend & feel refreshed for the week ahead. On a Sunday we tend to be somewhat laid back & relaxed but yesterday Bob had to do a little bit of work towards the course he is taking this week - so I decided rather than shut myself upstairs I would sit & sort my family history paper files.  The idea being I would reduce some of the paperwork being kept.  After all the information is on my small laptop.  But I do keep the printouts of where I first find certain information.  Unfortunately like everything else it has got out of hand.  In sorting the folder on Bob's family I came across some notes that we had printed before going to the archives a couple of summers ago along with my hand written comments & findings.  So! before I could throw them out I had to check they were on the laptop. Some were some were not.  So I updated those.  Next t...

Yesterdays cards

Good morning ladies Oops! no - just glanced at the time at bottom of screen & it says 12:27 - so it's good afternoon ladies & I want to know who pinched this morning. I thought I would pop in now & show you the 2 cards I made yesterday which I didn't have time to photograph last night. This first one is along the lines of the stamping style I am in at the moment.  I cut a rectangle out of a folded piece of paper with deckle edge scissors & then sponged (shaving brushed) the centre with Wild Honey & Fired Brick Distress Inks.  Then I stamped the tree, in Memento black, & then "grounded by using a Barbara Gray trick, using just the tips of a group of smaller trees.  I still didn't like the lower edge so I adhered some narrow black ribbon along it.  Then decided I needed to match it at the top as well.  Finally tamping the sentiment. This fun image was free with a magazine some time last year & not the normal style I wo...

Other cards I have made recently

Hello again - I hope your Christmas Day went well & that like Bob & I you are having a more restful day today. After posting the Christmas cards I had made I popped into the blog & browsed my postings over the last few weeks.  I didn't show a lot of my work did I - although the blog is more about your work.  So here now are some cards I made over the last couple of months This is the card I made for our daughter-in-law back in November.  Nadine loves Yankee candles & this was a nice way to present her with some more. I really enjoy this embossing technique - there is nothing difficult about it but I like the effect.  After stamping & colouring the image it is put through my big shot & an embossing folder, then after that it goes through again to be die cut. This was the card I made for my 85 year old cousin - he loves his gardening.  The boots & flower pot have been decoupaged & I also put another boots & pot on the bac...
