more of my Christmas cards

Image
Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas & now eagerly awaiting the New Year.  This is a strange few days - the hustle & bustle & excitement of Christmas has passed.  You've finished making Christmas cards & some of the presents too I suspect. Now it's those days between one event & the next.  You need a little rest from card-making, but then I expect like me you have people with birthdays early in January - so its off on another card making spree.  I had 2 to make yesterday for New Years Day birthdays to get them in the post today. Anyway, those Christmas cards. The last one (in this batch) I used Brushos over clear embossed images to create the background & I also used the matching die on the poinsettia spray to raise the flowers. This was the lucky dip card for the Happy Stampers Group (HSNW) that I still go to. The card above it is deliberately pale & subtle as the person it was for, likes...

Hello everyone Today I have the member showcase for you that I mentioned & it is of some more sewing work from Joanna of Mold club. Along with the photos in the email Joanna said this ............... "Hi Gloria Thought you might like to see what I've just been making - my great-niece had a baby two weeks ago and so I made a 'welcome bear' for him. Couldn't leave his big brother out so he got one too :) More fab designs from the company I've recently discovered (those who designed the trees) Kreative Kiwi - they're almost 12 inches tall. Rory was born 12 weeks early weighing 2 lbs 12 ozs - he's going to be in special care for many weeks yet but he's doing very well - tiny but strong." Here they are; I am sure they will love them Joanna - they are gorgeous.  Thank you for sharing. Ladies - you are all so clever & talented & I love seeing what you make regardless of what particular craft you have used...

The time has come to ..............

...........  start showing you the Christmas cards I made which had rubber stamping on them Quite a while before I start making them I look around for ideas - such as looking on Pinterest, looking back at styles we learnt about on club nights & articles in magazines.  The latter of course also means you may get Christmas stamps as freebies which can help. After deciding & changing my mind several times I finally saw the boxed magazine from Chloe's Stamps & fell in love with the stamp set in the box, along with a matching die. After a sample stamping session to see how well they stamped I decided on the route I would take, & that was to make as many different cards as I could using the main stamp in the set. Here is the first set I made;  this one & the next one are actually subtly different As you can tell the stamp I chose to use was the main stamp - the curved poinsettia spray. So 11 cards ...

Good evening everyone. My it was cold today - glad I didn't have anything to go out for. The cards I have to show you today are some of the last ones I have been making using Hunkydory card & toppers; I still have a lot to show you - mainly the ones I made for the stamp clubs.  I am now on to my final cards - those for the family, although I have already almost finished the one for our grandson. I hope your Christmas plans are going well - it's not far away now. Take care everyone 'Bye for now.

Good evening everyone. This evening I have the photos from the CSNW meeting last Wednesday.  The delay in showing this was caused by the breakdown in the mobile phones system over the weekend & therefore Elvena could not send them to me.  There is a mixture of cards to show - the ones from the project which was making a shaker card, a couple of a waterfall card & a photo of an ATC. This is a beautiful Christmas ATC from Ann, & was actually the Show & Tell for the evening but only Ann made one. These 2 photos are of a waterfall card that Ruth made after Novembers meeting when I showed how to make them.  She so enjoyed it she went home & made another one. Now for the evening's project - Shaker cards; Ann's card has lovely gold stars as the shaker material which goes well with the sparkly frame to the aperture. Claire's card has a lovely flower fairy in the shaker box Elvena complimented her spotty paper ...
