recent cards

Good afternoon everyone. Ugh I am fed up with this rain.  But I hope it didn't spoil your weekend plans & that you had a good time. Today I have a couple of my recently made cards; I decided it was time I made a card using some of the many products I have purchased & knew just who to make this card for.  I hope the recipient agreed. I used 3 colours of Brusho pigments for the background & then used a Tim Holtz (in the card) die. A few gems to complete & brighten it up.   I had to reduce the size of the brusho'd piece so I used the cut off to decorate the envelope. The other card style is one that I did with the CSNW club & when I was left with one of the strips of card I decided to use it for a birthday card for my brother.  I do rather like that blue & tan tartan paper - which by the way I have had for years & recently found several different designs of it. The gold car topper went very well with the tartan paper & ma

How remiss of me.......

............. when I posted yesterday (MoldII photos part 2) - I didn't say thank you to Carolyn for taking the photos of the cards on the night & then forwarding them to me for posting on the blog. Thank you Carolyn it is always much appreciated.

Good afternoon everyone I hope you are all well. I have just returned from my visit to Glan Clwyd & everything appeared to be OK.  I saw one of the senior nurses today & have an appointment with my Oncologist next month. Now I am going to show you the second set of photos from Tuesday's meeting of Mold II club & they are of their project card.  This month they were making the Pop-up Diorama card. There will be 2 photos per card - the outside & inside view. Annette A lovely restful scene with a hedgehog having a nap under a parasol from Annette. Absolutely delightful Carol A rather dramatic front to Carol's card - almost monochrome. But then you open it & wow! talk about colourful. Lovely. The use of mirri card on the inside of the front is brilliant. Carolyn A Christmas theme to Carolyn's card starting with this cute snowman on the front. A beautiful elegantly presented sentiment on the inside. Dot A b

Good afternoon everyone. The photos today are of the Show & Tell cards from last night's Mold II meeting where the theme was "celebrating summer".  The theme provided quite a variation of ideas. Annette Annette chose a seaside theme with lots of beach huts & some boats. The starfish & the shell have been double heat embossed with clear EP.   Carolyn Carolyn also chose a beach them with  a great sentiment on the front which led through to the message inside. The seaside themed bunting is great inside of Carolyn's card with some more of that bunting & a lighthouse. Elizabeth Elizabeth chose the celebration of flowers & what beautiful flowers they are. They are from a stamp & die-set by HoneyDoo Stamps. This is the back of Elizabeth's card. She said she had flowers over & decided to use them on the back of the card. Lovely idea. Elma Elma's view on summer was very differen

Hello everyone.  I do hope your weekend is going well. The photos today are of the Mold club's project for last Thursday evening. The fun fold domed card Janet A masculine theme to Janet's card - or perhaps just a mixed media card. That eye on the topper is quite weird - I can't look at it for too long,  but then I cannot take my eyes off it either Joan Joan hadn't finished her topper, so in order to photograph it in place Joanna had to put her finger on it. Joanna Love that topper - very dramatic. Have I remembered correctly Joanna, that the lady & her dress are paper pieced onto the oval? Lynn  What a gorgeous paper Lynn has used on her card & the flower cut from the same paper is really just perfect. inside view I have tried to see what the word is after "creativity" but can't quite make it out. In my head it thought it might say "Creativity means breaking rules"  but its n

Good morning -oops, checking the time, I can see - no its not - its good afternoon.  OK so who pinched the morning? Another weekend & the sun is shining & those weather people have promised sunshine.  So, I hope you have lots of nice things to do in the sunshine. Today I have the first set of photos from last Thursdays Mold club meeting & they are of their Show & Tell cards.  The theme - just go blingy mad.  It was supposed to have been through a sketch but I forgot to take the sketch with me the previous month.  So, hey - just blingy. Janet Janet loves her glitter & bling, & it really shows here. Glittery shoes, lace mirri card & gems - beautiful. Joan Another "wow that's blingy". Glitter card surrounded by loads of gems It's a stunning card. Joanna Bling not Joanna's favourite - but this is blingy. Glitter card, gems & glittery foiling, along with lace borders. Wow! Lynn  Also not so m

Hi everyone - what a lovely sunny day - this will help the winter stay away a little longer & we may get another lovely sunset tonight.  Did you see the really red one the other night & a very yellow one last night. I have been crafting since I last posted but not items I can show you just yet. Tonight is the September meeting for the Mold club - so I should have some photos for you in the next day or so.  I will be leaving shortly for the meeting so by the time you read this I will be on my way to Mold. Tonight is a special evening for Mold club - because tonight we are 20 years old - a small matter I forgot to mention to them all last month.  Have got some cake to celebrate. I hope you all have a nice evening & hopefully I will have more to write about tomorrow. 'Bye for now.

Good afternoon everyone I do hope you are having a great weekend. Today I have the other 2 triangle fold cards finished.  You may remember I had 2 A4 cards cut ready to make some of these.  I showed you 2 a few posts back & yesterday & today I finished the other 2. Sorry about the reflection on the bottom one - it was from the light coming through the window. Neither of the cards has a greeting on yet, so that I can put one on when I know what I am using it for.  After I had put the toppers on I remembered I was going to try using a ribbon closure or belly band - but I forgot. As well as these 2 cards I have been working on 2 larger projects that I have on the go.  I won't be able to show them to you until after they have gone to the recipients.  So, watch this space. That's me for this weekend. 'Bye for now.

Hello everyone. Well, here we are at a Friday again so the weekend starts here.  Have a lovely one whatever you are doing. Just popped back in to offer my apologies to Macmillan Nurses, as in the paragraphs below I had spelt it wrong - McMillan - now corrected. Last week I had a phone call conversation with a gentleman whose wife used to be a member of one of the Mold clubs.  I think it was Mold II.  Wyn Williams.  Sadly Wyn passed away about 18 months ago & this was the first I had heard of it.  He had got in contact because he wondered if I could help him move Wyn's craft stash on, as he is moving to a smaller house, & hoped I would be able to raise some money to be donated to Macmillan Nurses. Yesterday Helen & I went to see Mr Williams & brought all the boxes & bags back to my house.  We had a good sort out & some things like some of her card & papers we had to throw away because they had got all creased & screwed up.  There is some nice

Good afternoon everyone. Last weekend I sorted my box of bits (stash) & at the bottom were some papers & toppers left over from a Hunkydory Christmas set.  So, I decided that would be my project for the weekend. I made 4 cards even though there was some more items I could have used.  This was because my paper trimmer decided it had done enough cutting for the day & ripped the piece of paper I was cutting.  When I looked at the blade & tested on copy paper it did the same thing.  Of course, I did not have any spare blades - so had to wait for some new ones to arrive.  Which they did yesterday. Here are the four cards, they need a greeting which I will either die-cut or stamp & mount.  I kept them simple; Those 3 were all Hunkydory papers. The background paper is Hunkydory - but the teddies were a 3-d sheet that must have been part of a pack or a freebie on a magazine.  So I used that for my topper. So that's 4 towards the many.  I k
