just chatting & a challenge card

Image
Good morning ladies. I had a busy start to this morning, as I had to go down to near Cheshire Oaks to pick up Gareth - who had dropped his car off for a service.  Will have to take him back again later when it is time to pick it up again. I had been dragging my heels over a particular challenge I was going to enter because of the subject - wings. I really only have butterflies so couldn't easily decide what to do.  Then at the Mold club last night Joanna had a very different stamp that included wings - well one really -but that doesn't matter, so she very kindly lent it to me.  The other thing about the challenge was it had to be a one layer card.  As there were only a few hours left to take part I made it very simply.  Take a look (you can also read about it on my personal blog) ............. Those little word circles at the top of the card I have had for some time - all 9 are one long row - to use them split I had to do some masking.  Then I ha...

just chatting

Well I made a start on the Christmas cards.  I managed to make a decision on what colour card to use, & what shape to make them. Then I prepared all the cards, along with some of the layering card. Next step is to stamp the images, choose any embellishments & build the cards. Tomorrow is another one of those funny bitty days.  I have a dentist appointment in the morning, followed by my usual monthly lunch.  Fortunately I am only going for a checkup at the dentist. Then of course in the evening it is the October meeting for the Mold club when they have their visit from Marie, with her canvases. I am looking forward to that. So all in all there isn't a very long space between different bits - so I don't think I will get anything done to the cards - except to select the images I am going to use. I have just got in from my meeting this evening - so I am going to sit & relax for a while before heading off to bed. So I will say good night - slee...

Oh dear - got distracted

Yes - it is very easy to distract me from where I intend to go. I had made up my mind to start sorting Christmas cards - then got sidetracked with another challenge. It was this Sundays CD Sunday Challenge with an Autumn theme.  Here is my entry ............... Of course after doing that & seeing to emails & paperwork, it was time to see to that dreaded job H....W...!!!!  I have no idea where the day went. Today is just as strange - there were some things to see to first thing - then about mid-day I am taking Russ to the station to go & join Nadine for her Nan's funeral tomorrow.  Then this evening I have a meeting to go to.  With a bit of luck there is some time between those 2 events.  Fingers crossed. Exercise?  No updates?  No - cos I have not been this week so far.  Boy! am I going to have to work hard when I do get there. Hope you are having a good day.  Hopefully some card making news later. Ooh - I near...

Birthday Greetings Today is 17 October & a Mold II member has a birthday Happy birthday Jeanette Have a great day Jeanette

can you help?

Good morning ladies Yes - can you help! I am looking for a photographer for our wedding day.  The other weekend Nadine & I went to a Wedding Fayre at Northop Hall & one of the main reasons for the visit was to check out photographers. Well - they are having a laugh aren't they?  I explained that I didn't want piles & piles of photos but would like them on  DVD.  £600 was the lowest quote. So! if any of you are, or have friends who are, good photographers perhaps you could ask if they would like to help me out.  I am not expecting it done for free - just at a reasonable cost.  I mainly like the relaxed off the cuff photos - but would like one or two nice "posed" ones. I am hoping that guests will take photos & send me copies - because they will be the off the cuff ones. Right - I am off upstairs to start sorting Christmas cards as I am very behind in that task. 'Bye for now

I am still here

Good evening everyone I am sorry I have not been around for a couple of days but I believe I did mention that thiss weekend Bob had a naval reunion dinner that we were going to. It was for the people who had served on the island of Mauritius, & was being held on the lovely old iron warship HMS Warrior, in Portsmouth Harbour. Well, that is why I have been absent.  I didn't take my net book with me so couldn't write anything.  We travelled to Portsmouth on Friday & met up with one of Bob's colleagues & his wife from that time & had a very nice evening & meal together.  It was nice for me because it meant when we got to the big gathering Saturday night I already knew someone.  But the one thing I have always found is that Naval people are very friendly & you are never on your own for more than a few moments - someone will come & talk to you & keep you company.  Having been looked after it than manner before I found it much easi...
