Rubber Stamping - North Wales

Good evening everyone - I have not long been in from the Mold meeting. We had a visit from Caroline this evening & as she left my house after dropping me off she asked me to say thank you to Mold ladies for a warm welcome & also to thank the ladies who helped her unload her things & then put them back at the end of the evening.  It was much appreciated. It was a very inspirational demo & I am sure some of the techniques will be tried. I took photos of Caroline during her demonstration & of some of the work she was showing us. There will also be photos of the Mold Show & Tell.  I will load them tomorrow morning. The ladies did get to have a little play but I did not take any photos of their work. So! that is my quick pop in for tonight - more tomorrow. In the afternoon I am off for my flu jab - but I am hoping for a nice day to get some washing done & time to do some stamping. Night night

Well! What a day.  First the weather this morning - wasn't it awful? The first problem of the day was after I had had my morning wash I couldn't turn the bathroom light out - it is one of those pulley cords.  But it is also connected to the extractor fan.  So it would have not have been just a case of leaving the light on all day - but the fan too.  My first reaction was to give Bob a quick call & let him know of the problem.  I had hoped to catch him before he started his work with his customers.  But I got his answerphone - so left a message.  I decided to think the whole thing through - got the little step ladder out & climbed up, unscrewed the fitting. Thought I had made some adjustment & re-screwed the fitting back.  Still didn't work.  Then for the second day in succession the light bulb came on (the one in my head?) - so up the step ladder I went again, unscrewed the fitting, took a closer look & realised that th...

I thought I would pop back in & bring you uptodate with my earlier frustration.  But first a big thank you to Carolyn & Joanna who commented on that post with some ideas to help.  If you click at the bottom of the earlier post you will be able to read their messages. Anyway - I did email Spellbinders - & I had a lovely email this evening from them, basically pointing me in the direcction of the stamps & suggested I contact JustRite.  That had been my intention but I hadn't got around to it.  So a short while ago I did just that & sent the email off.  As their website looked rather interesting I had a look around.  It definitely states that the stamps were designed to co-ordinate with the dies. You know how something triggers off that little light in your brain? I have just spent a couple of hours sorting what I am going to add to those base Christmas cards & decided for some of them I would use a Spellbinder Shapeabilities die that I bought before going on holiday, along with a set of clear stamps that were designed to work with dies.  Or it might have even been the other way round. Any way - off I went doing some stamping - trying out some different effects.  Then started to set up the dies.  Immediately I found it very difficult to set the die over the stamped image.  Thinking it was just my vision I aligned it as best I could & ran it through the Baser.  The dies cut very well as you would expect - but - not as I expected them to. This is the die set These are the stamps; & here is one set of the smaller sizes stamped; They stamp very nicely but I wouldn't want to have to cut them out.  Take a careful look at the 2 photos before this & compare the die with the stamp. ...

Good morning everyone - this was actually meant to be last night's post, but after dinner I got engrossed in the next part of my crochet baby cardigan I forgot to come in here & write.  Sorry! So yesterday after a fair amount of thinking about how I would make at least some of my Christmas cards I set to & started on them.  So the first few are going to have this as their base; The card is a white 5" square & the embossing folder is a 6" square - so a little bit of fiddling to get it right.  It will probably have ribbon of some kind along the plain strip & quite possibly some Christmas image dangling from it.  So tomorrow (that is - today) time to think about what that will be & start producing it.  Hopefully then my mojo will be in full gear & I can get going properly. I hope you are all having more success & I expect you are well into making your cards. Back tomorrow (well later today) with the next stage.

Hi everyone Just got in from our family get together & a very pleasant evening it was too. I said earlier I had some new sent in by a member & here it is - from Joanna of Mold club; "I recently won prizes from a blog hop - Dreamweaver and Quietfire :) Dreamweaver, as you'll know, make wonderful stencils and they sent me 4 of theirs. Quietfire are my favourite sentiment stamp retailer. They're based in Canada and the owner is a calligrapher and so her stamps are all made from her writing and are beautiful. The not-very-good-really-calligrapher in *me* makes me cringe sometimes at the line spacing and fonts used on some sentiment stamps but hers....well, they're all lovely. So, I'm delighted to say that this morning I got 4 different stamps/sets from her as my prize. And what did I do to win???? I commented on the 'hop' for several days! No skill involved at all sadly so it's probably not worth putting on your blog as a 'triumph' unl...
