workshop photos - part 1

Image
Good morning everyone - here are the photos from Saturdays workshop for you to see.  I just went to each table & took photos of the work each person had done - but didn't take them in any specific order - eg - always take the tags first.  But I did take a photo of the table top to separate the work into sets (possibly with the exception of the first 2 as they had been put on a table together), so I will try & draw a line under each set. I will also put them here in 2 postings. Here we go with the first set showing the ladies hard at work; Now their work; ***************************** ************************* ************************ ********************** That's the first set - I will be back shortly with the second set.

just chatting

Good evening everyone & what a lovely day it has been. I must apologise that I have not worked on the photos from yesterday's workshop in order to show them here, as I had a fairly lazy start to the day, then after some things to do for the coming week - we went out for the rest of the day. We went over to Colwyn Bay to visit Gareth & Elayne & to have a good nose at their new home.  Very nice it is too.  We spent a really nice couple of hours sitting & chatting & then a decision was made to have some food so the four of us popped over to the Indian Restaurant in Rhuddlan.  We discovered this a few months ago & it has now become a favourite place to visit - it turns out Gareth & Elayne went there after we told them about it & they too are now regular customers. After the meal we made our way home via a scenic route - so took our time over it. Tomorrow I will work on the workshop photos I promise. Hope you have also had a good weeke...

just chatting about a workshop

Good evening everyone - what a beautiful day. Well today was the CSNW day workshop with 10 ladies attending.  I think I can safely say that we had a brilliant day.  I was very pleased with the way the day went & everyone seemed to enjoy doing the things that I had  thought up for them. We did quite a lot of work with inks & made some faux leather amongst other things - but you don't need me to tell you that because I posted about it on the "Events page". Some time over the weekend I will try & post the photos I took today - there are some of the ladies whilst they are working & then there are photos of their work at the end of the day. So now all I need is some response to my question about dates for Mold & Mold II for their workshop - only one person has sent me an answer so far.  I have told the centre that I will not have much idea until after the Mold meeting next Thursday - but that still leaves me Mold II ladies - who I will not s...

a recent card ...

Image
.. not rubber stamped I am afraid. I have a photo for you tonight of a card I have made for Bob's brother who will be 80 next week - I thought it was an ideal opportunity to start using the items in that Hunkydory big pack that I won a little while ago. It's rather a nice shape & I think that the little pieces of ribbon on the end of the greeting tag is just about right for a mans card.  You possibly will notice the little piece of white card behind it at the base?  That is actually a stand - obviously to display the card standing up.  It is not an opening card just the decorative backing - but it looks very good. I have just finished making sure that I have everything in my bags for tomorrows CSNW workshop day - I did have them all packed, with the exception of a couple of items I was still using, a couple of days ago.  But as you do - I had to empty them & check all the items back in again.  Fingers crossed I really do have everything. ...

A recent card

Image
Hi everyone - hope you are well & wasn't it a gorgeous day! Tonight I have a photo of the New Home card I made for Gareth & Elayne who moved into their new home on Monday; I actually spotted this stamp at the Paper-craft fair in Wrexham last Saturday & thought it would make a great card for them.  A little earlier I had also found another house stamp - but that was a little oldie worldie cottage scene.  When I saw this one I thought it was more appropriate. I stamped the roof a second time & put sticky pads along the bottom edge & sticky tape along the top edge. It made the roof stick up a little which I quite liked.  The image was water-coloured with my trusty inexpensive -pearlescent water-colour paints.  The stamp had 3 little hearts coming out of the chimney so I looked out a gem heart just the right size to stick over one of them.  On Sunday we are going over to see the new house - very exciting. I have also over the l...

member showcase

Good evening everyone. Tonight I have another member showcase for you & this time the photos are of cards made by Joanna from Mold club. The first photo is of a card made using the Lavinia's stamp that was a freebie recently - the card was for her niece & the style is going to be a project over the next few months.  There is also a closeup of the main image & a description of what Joanna did; Joanna's description - "I stamped onto a piece of double-sided sticky sheet and then put acetate on top of that, peeled off the back and gilded from behind." The second card also has a hand-made envelope; I love the design of this & recently sent for a die to make them.  Of course I haven't actually used it yet - but soon. Isn't that a good idea for the envelope & Joanna says that the map includes the recipients location on it. Thank you Joanna for sending these in. I hope more of you will start sending in y...
