Mold photos - part 1

Image
Good afternoon all. I have the first set of photos from last nights Mold meeting & they are of the Show & Tell where the theme is a card made using the colours - black, dark & light grey.  A small of white or neutral was permitted. Here are the cards This triptych card is stunning in its simplicity This card had everyone fascinated because there are tiny little owls sitting in that tree. A clever use of the colour task & some very unusual images too. What this photo doesn't clearly show is the glossy finish to those 2 lovely large flowers. Beautiful card - lots of different textures. I love those sparkly flowers that have been stamped.  In multi colours they would make great fireworks. Isn't this great - the collie is masquerading as a wolf - because there wasn't a wolf stamp to be found. What an elegant card & how nice to see a DL card for a change but then along comes another one....

Good evening everyone Today I received some photos from Rita of Mold II that I am going to showcase here.  I am sorry I didn't write anything yesterday but I had a workshop in the morning & then  pretty busy afternoon & before I knew where I was - the day had gone. Rita recently was informed she had won a prize for one of her cards - here is the card & here is her prize The embossing folder is definitely the prize but Rita is not sure if the magazine is as well. Well done again Rita - you said you thought the card was one you made at club when you were on a roll & we were using markers.  I am thinking you probably mean the "Thumping Technique"? That's me for today ladies - I haven't done any crafting myself today - unless you call gardening a craft.  I have had my raised bed in the back garden stripped out except for a very large cherry tree. That is coming out next week.  So the next few days I am finding pots for the ...

a challenge card

Hello everyone I hope you have all had a great weekend. Do you know Saturday seems so far away I can't remember what we did other than the shopping.  But yesterday we popped over to see Gareth & Elayne & ended up going out for a bite to eat with them - so that was a very pleasant few hours. During the morning yesterday I made a card for a challenge blog - it was the CD Sunday challenge that I quite often enter.  The theme this time was "Happily ever after" - so as I have a couple of anniversary cards to make I thought it would be an opportunity to get one of them made.  Here is my card; The image & background are from a Joanna Sheen CD called "Dancing with shadows" & I have used one of the fancy easel cards with the die cut top.  The sentiment was no longer in its packet so I have no idea whose make it is. The tulips were left from a previous card & they were perfect for this one too.  The background to the image was a sort of butt...

Good morning & the member who is being showcased this morning is Rita of Mold II.  One of her cards has been featured in the "Creative Cardmaking" magazine; What a lovely card - is it decoupage Rita? Well done. In her email Rita says she doesn't know if there is a prize - she hasn't received one yet.

Travelling back in time?

Te, he Did you spot my error in Thursday's post? Bob did. That's the trouble with working with family history as well as doing things now.

It might just be back....

..... my mojo that is. When I was out with my friend on Tuesday I bought a couple of 6x6 embossing folders - so today I thought I would try them out & see if that got me going again. Here is the first folder; & this is what it became; I forgot to remove the envelope behind it so it looks as if it might not be straight - but in fact - it is possibly the straightest I have made in some time. The second folder was this one; which became; I had an old / antique image in my head - this card needs something else - & when I have worked out what it is I will show it again. Another weekend is with us I hope you have lovely things planned.  Have fun. 'Bye for now.

a day of workshops

Good evening everyone Well! this is the first time for ages that I have had 2 workshops in one day & wow has it had an effect on me - I really feel tired.  Oh dear - I really am getting old (er). This morning I had an extra crochet workshop down at Daleside.  It was for a fellow crafter & her daughter who desperately wanted to learn how to crochet granny squares.  They had been misled into thinking my workshops were just drop-ins.  Anyway I did a proper workshop for them based on what they wished to learn.  But - my lovely stamp club ladies - I got something out of it for you.  A club evening one month next year.  That is all I am saying now.  Just wait for the 1915 workshop programme - or you never know I may let you in on the "secret" at your next meeting. After that morning workshop I was then off to my other group at another garden centre - the ladies who attend that one have been going for a while & are making the most amazi...
