Mold photos - part 1

Image
Good afternoon ladies This post I  have the photos from last nights meeting of the Mold club & they are of the Show & Tell. The challenge was to make a handbag card - not just a handbag shape on a card. I was not disappointed & I expect the pleasure will continue through the other 2 clubs & their show & tell. Here are their handbags; Joan made the largest of the bags when she made this lovely smart black & white tote bag. Reminded e of a nag I had back in the 60's Edited 21 January after posting - see comments in post - "Mold photos part 2" post. This should have read .................."Reminded me of a bag I had back in the 60's" From large to small with Rachel's lovely backpack or rucksack style bag with a pretty flower on the front & some smart buckles.  I am sure there is a better name for it. Maureen had some lovely silver buckles adorning her pretty little handbag. The blue of the b...

a birthday card

Image
Good afternoon everyone. Before I show you the card can I just say - please go & look at a comment left by Dot under the part 5 of "Christmas cards received".  Click HERE The birthday card I have to show you today is for one of my sisters-in-law who will be 80 later this month.  After giving it some thought I decided to go with one colour & chose gold as it is a special birthday. There isn't any stamping on this one - but every so often I have to make a card that doesn't include stamping & this was one of those occasions. I am pleased with the result - it uses quite a few different textures which seem to have fitted well together. In fact, I was so pleased I have already made the one for my other sister-in-law who will be 80 in November.  I will show you that one tomorrow. Tomorrow is the first meeting for 2017 of the Mold club - it will be so nice to see everyone again. That's all from me today - 'bye for now. .

Just chatting

Good evening everyone - what a murky day it has been today. I have been working on a few birthday cards today & very pleased with how they are coming along. I think looking at them I must be in my simplistic mode at the moment.  I will show them to you when they are completely finished. Last night I was at the first meeting of this year for my HSNW club.  We have an AGM because we are committee run, so there is quite a lot of business to cover. Then afterwards one of the members or one of the committee members usually gives a little demo on soe technique or other, to get us all back into stamping mode again. The demo last night was using bleach with stamps, & I haven't tried that in ages so felt inspired to have a try this morning - but I was foiled.  None of the coloured card I tried would bleach out.  I only had a bottle of thick bleach in the cupboard & it is actually the cheapest of cheap that does the work. I now have cheap bleac...

A birthday card

Image
Good afternoon everyone I hope you are all well & not suffering from this nasty cold that seems to be going around at the moment.  Lots of people I know have had it or have it now.  So look after yourselves & avoid it. Today's card is the one I made for my HSNW club's lucky dip birthday box.  It is our first 2017 meeting tonight & at this first meeting we all take along  a card which goes in a lucky dip box - then when it is your birthday you pull a card out - providing of course you have put one in.  Very much like our lucky dip Christmas card each year. For this card I decided to go for simplicity & used a square scalloped edge cream card.  The images & sentiment I stamped in black ink & embossed with clear EP onto cream card. After trimming them down I glued them onto black card leaving a small border. The flower squares are glued flat & the sentiment is raised on sticky pads.  The stamps were free with...
