Sad news

Image
Today I learnt the sad news that Brian - husband of Elizabeth of Mold II club - passed away on Monday.  He had been poorly for some time but through Christmas & Easter his health deteriorated I am sure you will all join me in sending Elizabeth our deepest sympathy & that we are thinking of her at this sad time.

Sharing a bad experience ..........

............ & it's outcome Good morning ladies I am currently waiting the arrival of my brother for a brief visit - but have just learnt that the Isle of Man is fog bound & all flights delayed.  He was supposed to arrive at 11:30 am but hasn't left the IOM yet.  Very frustrating. Anyway back to the reason for this post.  Just recently I had an email from Dot, of  Mold II club, about some trouble she was having with a purchase that had not arrived.  Rather than repeat Dot's words & perhaps miss something - I am copying her email here. "  I just thought   I would let you know that I ordered a stamp platform with carrying case from Once Upon a Stamp 21 days ago and paid £31.49 via PayPal. Well the parcel hasn't shown up and I've phoned this Gordon Fraser 3 times and all I get is the impression that he's not interested.  He told me that I had to contact the sorting office and the local post office to check with them and said I ...

member showcase

Good afternoon on a rather wet damp day.  Excuse me! but where is that heat wave they promised. Today it is time for another member showcase & surprise surprise once again it is Rita. I think we need to find what Rita's secret is in getting published so often. Her card was featured in this months issue of Creative Stamping - Issue 56. Its a great stamping magazine with a full A4 sheet of stamps with each issue. Well done again Rita That's me for today as I have already had a busy morning attending the Lymphoedema clinic. I have to start wearing a compression sleeve on my right arm to help control the swelling.  It was a bit uncomfortable having it put on by the nurse - for the first time - but she assures me it gets easier.  That will definitely be "another" job for Bob then! 😉don't think I could do it myself. 'Bye for today.

a weekend project

Image
Good evening everyone I hope you have been having a nice weekend. This weekend I decided to work on one project.  I suspect that if I had started it earlier in the day on Saturday & was a little more prepared with everything ready on my desk I may very well have made it in a day.  But I don't work that way at the moment & I don't work all day continuously - so it took me across the weekend to make. When I was looking for inspiration for the "special" mini album I am making I came across another design which I thought I would like to try.  So I put it on my list of things to do & it was this weekend I decided to have a go. The project was to make a "One Sheet Wonder" mini album.  It is made in one piece from a sheet of 12 x 12 card.  In reality you need 2 sheets of the same 12 x 12 card as when you start making it you realise that if it is going to hold tags & other things they are best made from the same card.  It would also be a good ...

member showcase

H everyone. Today I am popping in with a member showcase & of course it is our magazine queen - Rita of Mold II club. Her latest publication is in the current issue of Papercraft Essentials magazine.  Here is her card; From this photo you can see that Rita's name does not appear under the card - but there is a "3" in the top corner.  Nowadays the magazine publishers are putting a number against each card & then the names in a list at the bottom of the page. Well done Rita. Here we are at another weekend & I believe we may actually get some good weather.  Have a lovely weekend everyone. 'Bye for now.

Just chatting

Hi everyone sorry there has been 3 days since I last blogged but as I said some weeks ago I am not being as creative (quantity wise) as I usually am so I don't have much of my own work to show you. Plus it is amazing how quick the various hospital visits come around & seem so close to each other. I am just back from one of my monthly visits to Glan Clwyd this morning.  I have been attending a little more than once a month due to different things but gradually as I pass the initial introduction of my stronger medication the visits will settle down to once a month.  Which will be nice. Also this week I attended my check up at the Lymphoedema clinic.  My arm has gone down a little since the operation but still more than it should be, so the decision has been made for me to wear a sleeve, for a while, to assist this.  That actually arrived in the post today so I now have to make an appointment to visit the clinic at Colwyn Bay to be shown how to apply it. ...
