Mold photos - part 2
Good morning everyone I do hope you have a good weekend in store.
Because there is so much to show you from the Mold meeting on Thursday I actually prepared this post yesterday (Friday) & then scheduled the time it would appear on the blog. Because of that I do not at this time know what the weather is going to be like this morning (Saturday). I hope the snow has gone & stayed away.
The photos today are of the project for Thursdays Mold meeting. The project was shown by Joanna & Janet that is called "Pulled String Art". About the time Joanna spotted this on the Internet I did too, but just put it on favourites for reviewing at a later date.
The first photos are Joanna's work;

The photos today are of the project for Thursdays Mold meeting. The project was shown by Joanna & Janet that is called "Pulled String Art". About the time Joanna spotted this on the Internet I did too, but just put it on favourites for reviewing at a later date.
The first photos are Joanna's work;
Here Joanna has added some background detail
This one is mounted onto black card & that brilliant water bubble stamp added to it.
This one Joanna has added some word stamps & a splattered background. The artwork has been layered onto toning card & she used the string that she had pulled with as a finishing touch.
This next photo is two of Janet's - which she actually did during the evening as part of the demo;
On these two Janet had used 3 or 4 colours of paint on the string to give a variegated finish.
It's quite a fascinating technique - can be a bit messy, but addictive & the results are amazing.
Basically a length of string or cord is dipped into watered down acrylic paint, then it is laid down in a swirly pattern onto a piece of card - leaving the end of the cord hanging out the end,. Another piece of card is laid on top, some pressure applied over them & then the cord or string slowly removed. When taken apart you are left with 2 versions of the pattern in mirror image.
The ladies thoroughly enjoyed the technique & played all evening producing loads of samples. At the end of the evening they gave me the ones they liked the best & I photographed them. I am going to show those to you in the next post which will follow this one later in the day.
Also while they were all busy playing I wandered around taking photos of their work laid around the room on windowsills & whatever unused surface that could be found.
Part three I will put here later this afternoon & will be of the work the ladies gave me to photograph.
Enjoy the weekend, 'Bye for now.
