csnw photos

Good afternoon everyone.

This afternoon I have the photos from last night's CSNW meeting where we had a visit from Dawn of C&C and Lily of the Valley fame.

I took photos of the ladies watching the demo ;

Everyone listening very intently & asking lots of questions.

At this stage Dawn had been explaining how she works in small areas at a time & how she works with 3 or 4 colours.  You can see the 4 colours at the bottom of the card.

In this photo Dawn has been explaining her use of the Spectrum Noir pencils over the Copics ink & how she blends the two together.  The same piece was also used to show us how to grounded an image - in this instance placing grass at the feet of the little girl - again using 3 or 4 colours of green. At the top of the card you can see the selection of reds she chose for the sleeve of the dress.

Dawn also showed this one quite early on explaining that most people have trouble with red because of it being a strong pigment.  She also advised to colour any red first then if it didn't work it was just a small piece of card that had been wasted - rather than do all the other lovely work first & then find you didn't like the finish on the red shoes.  Very wise advice.

At the end of the demo Dawn also showed the ladies the little box she is always asked about.  We did rather run out of time & I didn't get any photos of the boxes that were finished. Over the next few weeks Daw has a screen test for being on Create & Craft for Tonic Studios - so we wish her good luck, & will also be busy at the Alexandra Palace Show (affectionately known as Ally Pally), then she has the Thursday Mold club to visit.  Busy busy.

Well! another weekend is here & this time a Bank Holiday one - I wonder what the weather has in store for us.  I hope you have a great weekend whatever you chose to do - remember - not too many Easter eggs!

'Bye for now.
