Mold photos
Good afternoon everyone - well here we are again - back to normal. Fingers crossed.
Today I have the photos that I took at last night's meeting of Mold club, where they had their visit from Dawn. The photos show the ladies gathered around Dawn listening to what she has to say. After the demonstration Dawn showed them all how to make the little origami box - so I tried taking photos of that in different stages.
Today I have the photos that I took at last night's meeting of Mold club, where they had their visit from Dawn. The photos show the ladies gathered around Dawn listening to what she has to say. After the demonstration Dawn showed them all how to make the little origami box - so I tried taking photos of that in different stages.
I think here Dawn was explaining about the way she chooses her colours - light, medium & dark.
Three photos of Dawn showing & explaining the colouring technique. The third one was the best view I could get of Dawn actually colouring.
Here is the origami box;
You start with two squares of paper with one smaller by a smidgen. (I love that word).
The strips cut off must be on 2 connecting sides to retain the square shape.
You then find the centre point. This can be done in several ways - here the paper has been folded in half diagonally not creasee except for a tiny crease put in the centre. It is then folded in the other diagonal direction & the centre marked again. The corner is then folded into the centre point & creased well.
Whilst it is folded in like this take the folded edge & place that on the centre point line, as above. Unfold & repeat on the other three sides.
The next stage is to cut. Place the paper as a diamond then cut up the line by the side of the small triangle until you reach the centre square. Repeat on the other side of the same strip & then again on the opposite end.
Fold up the longer sides & fold the flaps in, in front of the shorter tabs.
Bring the shorter tab up & over the folded in flaps & then the triangle will sit on the floor of the box.
With all 4 sides worked your half box should look like this. Repeat those steps for the other piece of paper exactly.
Here is the finished box on its side showing the top & the base. This works with any size square of paper.
I hope this all makes sense if you weren't at one of the meetings to see it done. Any problems get in touch.
That is me for this time. Back tomorrow with member news & a fun card I have made.
'Bye for now.
