A birthday card
Good afternoon everyone.
Well, it is quite sunny & bright - but my oh my - that wind is strong.
Today I have a birthday card that I have made for our daughter who lives out in the USA - it is her birthday a little later this month & has to be made & sent off in plenty of time. She is a very Arty lady so I always find it difficult to pick a design for her.

Today I have a birthday card that I have made for our daughter who lives out in the USA - it is her birthday a little later this month & has to be made & sent off in plenty of time. She is a very Arty lady so I always find it difficult to pick a design for her.
Here is the card;
I had been thinking about a design for a few days & then when we went to Tesco's for our shopping on Friday I saw the latest copy of the "Cardmaking & Papercraft" magazine & the free gift this issue is 3 border embossing folders in the Art Deco style. Voila! - card design sorted.
I embossed one of the folders twice - the very geometrical design, & the flourish design once. After embossing them I gently rubbed the raised surface with a Gilding Wax. I have a make called "Gleam" & the colours come in small pots. Really, the only way to apply the wax is to use fingertips - but because the pots are small it is difficult getting the wax onto fingers, as fingernails get in the way. I ended up almost gouging the wax out of the pot. The colour I chose matched very nicely with the background card I was using. Also when I came to stamp the greeting I noticed that I had a matching ink pad as well. A couple of gems on the central panel completed the design.
If anyone can tell me of an alternative way use the wax from the little pots I would be very grateful - I don't mind ending up with wax on my fingers - but not under my fingernails.
That is me for today - more tomorrow - after I have had a day out with my friend Sue.
how about a finger from a plastic glove, Gloria
