a recent card
Good evening everyone.
This evening I have a photo for you of one of the 2 cards I made over the last few days - it was made for our daughter-in-law Elayne -
This evening I have a photo for you of one of the 2 cards I made over the last few days - it was made for our daughter-in-law Elayne -
I made it as a congratulations card for her, as she has just been promoted to manageress of the British Heart Foundation shop where she works.
It's a "floating" image card which I spotted in a recent magazine. After embossing the front of the card with the little floral embossing folder I cut away a central section on a slight diagonal. I then stamped the image, & coloured it with my pearlescent water colour paints. I decided the embossing was a little plain - so I also coloured the little flowers with the same colour as the rose. After cutting the image out in a rectangle I went around the edge with a toning felt pen. The topper is then adhered to the top of the card by its corner, the lower part of the card is then placed back in its correct place & then the topper adhered to it by the bottom corner.
I used the piece that I had cut out from the front on the inside of the card immediately behind the opening.
I must admit that at one point I felt like I could have done with a third hand - but patience won out.
I hope you had a good weekend - another photo tomorrow.
