just chatting

Good morning everyone. I hope you had a good weekend - & yes I know it was nearly 2 days ago - but I didn't mention it in my "snow" post yesterday. I had a good crafting weekend & got started on my batch Christmas card making - the ones I do for Bob, & a couple for me for groups I am involved in.  Not the stamp clubs.  I also sorted out a remembrance day wreath for a friend by putting their name & logo behind the gap left by the poppies.  I did this last year for them as well. Then Sunday evening I felt a bit sniffy & on Monday morning I had a pretty decent cold going on.  I did try to continue with my card making but had to stop due to my poor nose constantly running. I had a fairly decent night sleep last night & still pretty sniffy this morning.  My poor little nose is red & sore. 😳  So I am dosing myself up to try & clear it.  Good job I had my flu jab a week or so ago, otherwise it might have been a lot of worse.  So no crafti

Good afternoon everyone - isn't it nice to see the sunshine? This afternoon I have the photos from last night's Mold II meeting & they are of their project. which was the pull-up concertina card, that each club has been making this month. Last night we were almost a full house plus a new Crafter joining us - so welcome Dawn I hope you enjoyed your evening & that we will see you again at the meetings. Thank you to Madeline who started this project by making me one for my birthday this year & also for taking the project last night at Mold II's meeting. Madeline Madeline made this version whilst showing everyone how to make the card. I love the black & white colour scheme - but she wasn't the only one who chose that colour. Annette Delicate shade of pink & green show here in Annette's card & we can see peeping  out on a couple of the squares some faces. Carol Lilac & floral for Carol's card &

some recent cards

Good morning everyone.  A few days ago when sorting through work that I had on a to-do list I decided it was time to use up some cards & images that I had via a freebie on a magazine. The actual freebie consisted of some base cards & the mechanism strips to make the twist & pop card, along with some pretty toppers.  We made the twist & pop card at one of our club nights possibly last year some time - maybe longer ago than that. Anyway, I didn't like the mechanism pieces very much & decided I would go my own way with the remainder of the items.  The toppers are quite pretty with a watercolour look to them. So here is what I ended up putting together. Just added some decorative paper behind the topper & inked the edges. Just inked the edges. Two more with decorative paper behind & inked edges Made this one as a gate fold & used one of the toppers for the insert. The blank half front will have a sentiment l

Good afternoon.  How are you all? Today I have a photo of the recent anniversary card I made for Gareth & Elayne. The card was made using some of my Hunkdory images.   I thought the pink roses went so well on the burgundy background,  a sheet of card that I had in my box. I don't know if you will remember but just before they got married Elayne asked me about making a wedding cross stitch picture for them.  I did say I wouldn't be able to work too quickly but she didn't mind.  But, I didn't expect it to take me this long.  I could only stitch in small sessions & when the light was good.  I am not making excuses for the delay just explaining.  Anyway if it hadn't been for our other daughter-in-law, Nadine, it still wouldn't be finished.  She realised I was getting anxious about it & offered to finish it for me.  Elayne & Gareth are aware of the joint effort & were very pleased with it when we gave it to them. I like to tak

Good afternoon everyone I do hope your weekend is going well. This afternoon I have the photos from the Mold club meeting on Thursday night, & they are of their project for the evening.  There was no Show & Tell on Thursday so just the one set of photos, but there are quite a few. Here we go, there are multiple views in order to give an all round view; Janet Love the background papers being used in Janet's card & the mix of colours Joan Pretty snowflakes decorate Joan's card. This is so clean & fresh looking Joanna Wow loads of sparkle in Joanna's card - so rich looking. Quite an unusual choice for Joanna. Lynn Love this bright Christmas design from Lynn A great break from traditional patterns. Mair A beautiful lilac shade to the papers used by Mair in her card. Unfortunately Mair had not brought enough of the flowers to decorate so she only put them on 2 of the conc
