Good morning everyone Well it looks like yesterdays snow has gone, as it is raining quite hard now - well at least here it is. This morning I opened an email from Rita of Mold II club with a phot of a card she has had published in a recent copy of Simply Cards & Papercrafts magazine; Well done Rita I guess given todays date this will be the last member showcase of 2017, although I am sure that a while back I said that I had seen some entries in recent magazines I had bought.  I will go through them later today & see. 'Bye for now.

How was your Christmas?

Good afternoon everyone. I am just popping in to see how you all are after the Christmas festivities.  I hope you had a olvely time & received lots of nice presents - some nice crafting ones too. We had the company of our 2 sons & their wives along with our little grandson.  Considering it was a long day for him he did remarkably well, especially as he is teething which is so unpleasant for babies to cope with. Here he is in his little Christmas outfit, sitting on his uncle Russ's lap, watching me take a photo of him.  I did take rather a lot that day - he must have got fed up with me. Also since th start of my "troubles" - it was my first chance to have a hold.  Lovely! I had just about the laziest Christmas I have ever had as Bob saw to the Christmas dinner along with the help of one of our daughters-in-law. Isn't it strange how much better you enjoy a meal, particularly special ones like Christmas day dinner, when you haven't cooked it your

Good afternoon everyone. This afternoon I have those long promised photos from the CSNW December meeting to show you. It turned out the cable connecting my mobile phone & my laptop was not functioning properly - so borrowing Bob's lead it worked. On their last evening the CSNW ladies decided to return to some previously tried card designs including the bookmark card & the faux envelope card. Here are the photos; Ruth has made a start on the bookmark card - you can see where the slit is for the bookmark to go. Two cards from Joan   Joan's first card is in the style of the card we learnt through one of Carolyn's designs The other one looks like she has created decoupage.within an aperture. Grace chose the faux envelope card design. I have always liked this design & often use it myself - its great for masculine cards. Gwen chose a gate-fold design for her card. That lovely stripey ribbon picks up the colour

Good afternoon everyone. I am desperately trying to catch up with photos that I have still to blog.  A couple of days ago I received an email from Rita of  Mold II club with a photo of one of her cards that was featured recently in a magazine.  Creative Stamping I seem to remember. So here it is for you to see; I fell in love with those cute Santa gnomes when they were a free gift with one of the magazines. Well done Rita - keep up the good work in 2018 too. I must apologise to the CSNW ladies as I haven't yet put their December meeting photos here.  They are on my mobile phone & at the moment I am having a problem downloading them to my laptop. I am hoping Bob might be able to help me later today.  So please bear with me on this. Hope to have some more things to show you tomorrow. 'Bye for now.

A present from the NHS

Good afternoon ladies I thought I would pop in with my latest health news. Yesterday I had an appointment with the oncologist at Glan Clwyd who informed me that she was going to put me on Hormone Therapy & not  Chemotherapy.  This is in the form of one tablet a day along with one injection a month.  The injection is to help stop the bones from deteriorating. I will be on the tablets - I am not sure of the injection - permanently.  So no chemo therefore no hair loss no need for wigs. She showed me the bone scans & it also showed a lot of wear & tear on my shoulder & knee joints - to be expected at my age I suppose.  But the cancer cells were all in my spine & quite a lot of them too although each one smallish. Bob & I are happier with this outcome & feel that the year is ending on a slightly better note than was originally thought. But the disease is there & we will beat it or at least control it for the best results for my well being. T

club page updates

Hi everyone I do hope you are keeping safe & warm. I have this afternoon updated the club pages & project photos page with information regarding the Mold II January meeting, plus a little info on their February meeting as well. Over the weekend I received photos from Elvena of the CSNW club of their December meeting on the 6th.  When I have uploaded them from my phone I will put them on the blog. Take care in this weather. 'Bye for now. PS I hope you don't mind but I am going to put a little request here - could you all check you members names & address lists & make sure you have the up to date version.  The reason for this request is that I have received a couple of cards addressed to Gloria Lumley (also Mr & Mrs Lumley ). If that is what you have could you please change my surname to Jones .  I don't get offended by the error but its a bit unfair on Bob.  Whilst I am sitting around over the next few weeks - I will rewrite those lists for

updating pages

Good afternoon everyone. I do hope you are all taking care in this snowy cold weather & keeping warm. I am just popping in quickly to say that I am starting to update the projects & project photo pages for the meetings after Christmas. This morning I added the photos & project details for the first Mold meeting on 18 January 2018. I have a copy of the sketch that Joanna chose for the show & tell & will photograph it later & add that as well. Will be updating the Mold II pages a little later today also. Take care everyone 'Bye for now.

two recent cards

Good afternoon everyone - I thought it was about time I wrote another post.  So this time I decided to show you 2 recent cards I made, fortunately before being handicapped by my op. They are both cards that needed to go out to the USA. The first one is the birthday card for our son-in-law; I had some great Kraft paper covered with old bicycle designs, which I layered onto some red & black striped paper & then mounted that onto a base white card.  The red sports car is decoupaged - not a thing I do that often - but this one went together very well.  I even put some acetate behind the windscreen aperture. He does actually have a red sporty car! The second card was for our daughter & son-in-laws wedding anniversary; This one was made using one of Crafters Companion 3-d embossing folders.  I really like this design & it is far more versatile to use than I have done here.  So I look forward to using it more.  I layered it onto a piece of blue card, the

Good afternoon & what a miserable afternoon it is too.  That is because of the weather & no other reason. This afternoon I have the photos from the Mold II meeting last Tuesday & they are of the project shown to them by Dot & Carolyn.  A delightful little box that held notelet cards. Not everyone got around to making the box & notelets together so we have a mixture of photos. The first set of photos are those sent to me by Dot - showing the sample she had made to show the ladies what they would be making; It is such a lovely idea. I am really sorry I missed it - bit Carolyn has sent me instructions on how to make one. The first photo shows Annette's box closed & then the second photo shows the box open with the 3 little notelets she made to go inside. Christine completed her box - it looks like it goes together really easily! Elizabeth also completed her box. As did Helen. Love the idea of cutting the bu
