quick chat - page updates

Good evening I have today updated the club pages & project photo page as far as I can. I will blog the Mold II photos - part 2 tomorrow, as I have had to take Bob to the Countess again today & when it is in the heat of the day it really knocks me back.  So I actually had a couple of hours in bed this afternoon. It's the weekend again - so I hope you have lots of lovely things planned.  Have a great weekend. More tomorrow.

Mold II photos - part 1

Good morning everyone. Today I have the first set of photos from the Mold II meeting on Tuesday evening, & they are of the Show & Tell card. I was asked at the May meeting to pick a subject for it & I chose - Floral, Black, White & Silver. Two cards from Madeline.  I love the verse on that first card. Carol's chequerboard effect is a really clean & simple design. Love it. This is a beautiful card Elizabeth - I love the balanced design. A beautiful sympathy version for Carolyn. It is so difficult to choose a design for these cards - but this one is just right. A rather chic look to Christine's card.  That striped paper was just perfect for this challenge. Black & white does make for a very rich looking card. I love that embossing folder. From Sue another clean & simple design - those flowers are really pretty. What a lovely sentiment Elma, & a very interesting background. I am not su

Phew - it's hot.  I do hope you are all managing to keep cool. The photos I have for you today are the photos from the Mold meeting on Thursday & are of their project for the evening.  This was given by Rachel & was a card that is a pot of flowers. Some pretty yellow flowers in Clare's.  Really like the use of that paper for the pot. A very pretty pot from Joan with a lovely summery group of flowers.   The foliage really sets it off well. Joanna was not happy with her pot of flowers, (she told me), as she had not been sure if she would make it to the meeting & just grabbed something quickly. What a lovely colour scheme on Lynn's card & I love the fact that wording has been  kept on the pot covering.   What a lovely clean & crisp pot & flowers made by Mair Maureen's pot is still growing its flowers.  Love the gingham pot. Rhiannon went for autumnal colours for her flowers & there is tha

Good afternoon everyone This afternoon I have the first set of photos from the Mold club meeting last Thursday & today they are of the Show & Tell cards.  The theme for the Show & Tell was to use as many colours as you could on the card. I wasn't at the meeting so I cannot comment on how they were made, but I will make my own little comments. Oh dear - first card - it's mine! I coloured a piece of white card with as many colours of Distress Ink as I could then stamped in Black & embossed with clear EP.  Layered it onto several colours of card picked from the inks. This is Janet's card - lots of colouring detail there & looking at the bottom right corner of the topper it looks like she has clear embossed or possibly  used glossy accents to give a glassy effect. I love the sun-ray background to Joan's card & the colours picked out in the flowers as well. Lynn's card reflects that mixed media style that she is f

Good afternoon everyone & what a lovely bright sunny day. This morning I had a lovely visit from Gareth with Gwion bringing me a birthday card & a coupe of pressies.  Some lovely flowers from Iwan, Gareth's step-son & a beautiful photo frame holding a photo of myself with Gwion on my lap, which of course was from Gwion.  They spent a couple of hours & it was most pleasant.  Gave Gareth a chance to see how his Dad is doing. Right! This member showcase is the one I told you about a few weeks back that I had not been able to successfully download from my phone.  The magazine was brought to the meeting last Thursday by Rhiannon (who had sent me the original photo) & Joanna took another photo of it when she photographed the cards from the meeting. This member showcase is of a card & letter in a recent magazine, made by Rachel of Mold club; A lovely mention of the club there Rachel In case you are wondering what project that was here are the projec

just chatting

Good afternoon everyone & what a lovely sunny day it is too. Just popping in for a quick chat.  I popped along to the Mold meeting last night but didn't stay long as I had been at Glan Clwyd hospital, what seemed most of the day. They were very busy & I waited nearly 2 hours for my appointment.  The Oncologist had the result of my CT scan & my last blood test.  My bloods are looking fine & the CT showed that the medication appears to be doing the job it is supposed to do.  So, basically it  is keeping the cancer under control.  I have been experiencing rather bad backaches lately so mentioned this to her & she checked my back.  I did sort of let out a groan when she pressed on the lumbar region of my spine.  So, she is putting me forward for a single dose of Radiotherapy aimed solely at that part of my back.  It is slightly possible that I may have to have 2 sessions - but she believes one will be sufficient. As I didn't stay long at the Mold meeting I

My other album project

Good evening everyone. Despite having to take some time out to take Bob back to the Countess for a check up on his minor op he had last week - I managed to spend a couple of hours later on my album. The hospital is pleased with Bob's leg & he has had the stitches removed but is still not allowed to drive for a while. Back on Monday for another check up. My album I am working on is one to keep photos of our grandson's first year in, starting from the scan. I have done some more work today, as I said, & have managed to cover the pocket pages that form the basis of the album, plus an envelope on the inside front cover. What do you think? This is the front cover A view of the inside showing the page / pockets Looking down at the inside The inside front cover. The little envelope will hold a photo of the scan & I have closed the flap with Velcro dots A look at some of the pages with their mats. The main co

A recent card

Good evening everyone. Today I have one of my recent cards to show you - it is one of the Hunkydory ones that I have been putting together. I keep dipping into the packets of Hunkydory card & papers - but it doesn't seem to be going down all that fast. I do love the flower fairies they are so delightful This afternoon I have been working on creating another album - one to hold photos from our grandson's first year (he will be 1 in July) - where do the days go? I made the album cover last week & today spent time on the inside.  I hope to do some more work on it tomorrow & if I do I will pop some photos of it here. A little while ago I said I had a member showcase to show you but the photo was on my mobile phone.  Sadly I can't seem to download it to my laptop to show you.  I will try & get it emailed to me instead. That's me for today.  More tomorrow. 'Bye.

csnw photos - part 4

Good afternoon everyone - I hope you are all having a nice weekend. Today I have the last set of photos for the CSNW club ladies & they are of the project they did at their meeting earlier this month. I had found the project but as I wasn't sure I would be able to go to the meeting I asked Joan (one of the club members) if she felt she would be able to take the meeting.  I sent her notes, she had a play & said yes.  So thank you very much Joan. The project was another pop-up lay flat card.  😊- great description, I couldn't think of any other way to describe it. Once again Elvena took the photos & she tried to take 2 views of each card where possible.  One view laying flat & the other stood up. Elvena's card first with a clean & fresh design.   This bottom photo really shows the pop-up element to the card. Ann's card wasn't quite finished but I rather like the rounded corners on the front piece. Kate's
