club showcase - mold

Image
Good morning everybody. This morning I have a few more entries for the Mold Show & Tell from their March "meeting", where the challenge was an ATC in shades of blue. Two ATC's from Janet. The dark blue border around them really sets them off & I love the little drops like rain drops on them. Two ATC's again - this time from Joan Again nice border around them to emphasise them. I like that it looks - at least to me - like the girls are being photo bombed. Joan wree the images stamped direct onto the background paper or did you stamp & cut out? Ooh - we've gone up to 3 ATC's now - from Lynn. They are fantastic. I like multi layers. Now I really should go into my craft room.  I said that before, but I ended getting side-tracked with family history.  So really must go in today. Stay safe. I hope you are all keeping well. 'Bye for now.

Birthday Cards

Good morning! A thought occurred  to me last night (& as usual just as I was dropping off to sleep), so obviously then spent ages trying to clear it from my heat in order to go to sleep. At this time where many of us cannot (& mustn't go out) How will we get birthday cards & other kinds out to the people they have been made for.  I am in particular thinking of the members of the 3 clubs.  Bob & I are in total isolation so there is no way I can get my cards out. The idea I had was this, continue to make the cards then take a photograph of it & send the photo via email to the intended person.  We could then keep it safe, until we see each other at club nights & hand it over for them to keep. What does everybody think.  I am hoping here that most club members are still popping into the blog to see what is going on.  So leave a comment or email me with your thoughts, please. Right, I am off to sort out some cards & then I will be posting photos of

Good afternoon everyone. Today I have Carolyn's card from the Mold II Show & Tell March meeting card. Carolyn sent it to me via WhatsApp & I had trouble with linking it to my laptop - but that has now be remedied & everything is working again. Here is a reminder of their challenge format - the Tic Tac Toe chart, followed by Carolyn's card; Carolyn chose the central - vertical line The outside of her card, followed by 2 photos of the inside. I believe this is to be a future project. I have a Mold club showcase as well - so I will put that here tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of your weekend & I trust you remember to put the clocks forward last night?? 😊 'Bye for now.

CSNW Group Notice

Good afternoon CSNW ladies. On your club page I have put the details of a Show & Tell card you can make so that we stay in touch. I have also sent out a group email about it explaining how you can send me the photo of your work.  I look forward to seeing your cards.  Just send them as you do them & I will collect them together for a blog post as normal. Keep safe & well.

just a lighthearted chat

Hi, as it has been such a lovely sunny day I decided to go for a walk & get some fresh air earlier this afternoon. I did not stray far - just to my back garden.  I walked round & round - like a teddy bear - one step, two step - but no tickle under there.  😎  Just stepped back in doors.  I enjoyed it so much I may repeat the exercise again.

Club Showcase - Mold II

Image
Good morning everyone - I hope you are all well & safe. Over the last couple of days I have received photos from the Mold II ladies of their Show & Tell cards that were intended for their meeting last night - which as we all know had to be cancelled. Their challenge was to make a card using the following chart - it's called Tic Tac Toe, & the ladies had to select 3 items from it - but in a line - either horizontal, vertical or on the diagonal. Also a couple of ladies have sent in their sharing Easter Card. Here are their card with a description of what line they chose; This is Annette's card & she kindly sent a copy of the chart as well. Her choices were Rectangle, Yellow & scoring - (top line). This is Ceri's card.  Her choice was circle, cotton/wine, birthday (Centre horizontal line)  This is the inside of Ceri's card. This is Dot's card who chose square, thread & scoring - top right to bottom

Good morning everyone & how lovely to see the sunshine for 2 consecutive days, which will help make us all feel much brighter. I do hope you are will keeping well & safe, & that you have the means to stay in touch with friends & family. I have called this post "club showcase" rather than "member showcase" because several ladies of the Mold club have still made their Show & Tell card for the last meeting.  This was the one due on 19 March - which was cancelled & the start of our shut down for a while. The Show & Tell challenge was set by Rachel & was to create an ATC using only blue tones; This Joanna's ATC, which is so lovely, & when she sent me the photo - she also included a  step by step photo set. I may include that as a separate post on another day.  You may all find it useful. This is my ATC - yes - you read that correctly - MY ATC. I love the colour blue & I had some new products to play wi

IMPORTANT NOTICE -- MOLD II LADIES

IMPORTANT NOTICE MOLD II CLUB MEMBERS Good afternoon ladies I have just received an email from Carolyn confirming that they have decided to postpone the Mold II club nights until further notice - due to the Coronavirus. This is very sad but I feel is very wise. Carolyn will be contacting everyone.  Please keep in touch, perhaps send photos of things you are working on that I can put on the blog.  Send them by email or WhatsApp if you have it.  Perhaps you might have an idea of something to make - a challenge for everyone, if you like.  Just get in touch.  If you put a comment on the blog remember it does not appear immediately - I have to approve it.  I did this becuase we were getting so much spam - some of it not nice at all - but that has dropped off a bit. Take care of yourselves - stay safe - & I look forward to seeing you all soon. THIS POST WILL STAY NEAR THE TOP FOR A FEW DAYS.

Meetings & the Coronavirus

As my previous post about this situation this post will stay at the top. Good morning everyone I am here with an update on the current situation.  How we will deal with this situation, especially the information from the government this week, regarding meeting in groups, & the over 70's & those with underlying health problems. So far the two centres involved in our meetings have not made a decision to close. The CSNW group who meet in Rhuddlan on the irst Wednesday have decided to suspend their meetings until the situation clears.  Based on the Governments statement about the over 70's & health problems this looks like being for a period of 12 weeks minimum.  For their club I have today spoken to the community centre in Rhuddlan & they are holding our meeting date open for us until we return. The Mold group, who meet on the third Thursday, at Parkfields Community Centre have already made the decision to cancel this months meeting which would have take

Meetings & Coronavirus - especially Thursday group

Important Notice This will sit at the top of the posts until Friday 20th March. A decision has been taken by the Thursday club ladies to NOT hold their meeting next Thursday.  There hasn't been any notification from Parkfields about any proposed closure so we can assume they are staying open during this time. But (& I know I shouldn't start a sentence with but) -in the Thursday club there are 2 people myself & one other with low immune prblems - so it is best we stay away from groups. Some of the other ladies also have underlying health problems.  I sent out a general email to them all asking them how they felt & what they wanted to do & the result was to cancel this month & hope we would be back to normal in April. I have been in touch with Carolyn who looks after Mold II - who next meet on Tuesday 24th - to see what she thinks about her group.  A notice will be put here of any outcome regarding that meeting. Please take care everyone

a recent card

Good morning everyone. Well its Saturday & the weekend has started - a weekend with a difference - I do hope you all have something to do that will keep you safe & well. Today I have a recent birthday card that I made, to show you. I created the background paper by inking it first, with just 2 colours, then inked through a doily stencil, again using the same 2 colours.   The main image & greeting were stamped in black ink & a little jewel added to the top doily  for some glamour. Have a good weekend - that's all from me today. 'Bye for now.

Just chatting

Hello everyone I am just popping in for a quick chat & to see how you all are.  I am not sure how many of you regularly read the blog & how many of you will be looking at it during this unusual time, but I will continue to write some posts. I have been quite busy making cards which I will show you.  Some are from using materials from my stash & on Wednesday had quite a good session doing that. I had an appointment with my Oncologist yesterday (Thursday) & she has given me my Chemo drug for 8 weeks & an appointment for May which is when she is hopeful we will start being allowed to go out again.  She did stress that my cancer puts me in the top of the most vulnerable group & that I MUST self isolate.  Fortunately I had already started doing that.  Sadly we have had to cancel our holiday next month in Brittany (France is virtually closed down anyway). I am hoping that you will carry on crafting during this period & send me photos of anything you make,

FOR YOUR INFORMATION - STAMP FESTIVAL PORT SUNLIGHT

THIS MORNING I RECEIVED THE FOLLOWING NOTICE IT CAME FROM A RETAILER I have copied it as sent - even including the little humerous touch on the end - we have to keep our humour in this dire situation. Inkylicious  ·  Happy Stampers Sat 25th April 2020 - Sorry but we have just received the news that unfortunately Happy Stampers won't be going ahead in April. More details will  be posted on the Happy Stampers website on Monday   https://www.happystampersnorthwest.co.uk The Autumn show will be reviewed in July when hopefully we should all have a better understanding of what the situation is then. Please don't give Liz who runs the show a hard time, decisions like this aren't taken lightly and it has been an extremely difficult decision for her to make. As per usual - please all keep yourselves safe and well x On another note: Does anyone want 100 sausage rolls, 50 Scotch eggs, 100 packets of crisps and numerous salad dips .... Good morning everyone Today I have the last set of photos from Joanna when she attended a Sweet Poppy Stencils workshop last year; These two images on black card have been created with micro beads. Amazing. This image is created by placing 2 different colours of glitter over wet paste. This snowflake is created with ink over dry paste. They are so beautiful Joanna & I believe you are going back for another workshop this year! That's all from me today ladies. 'Bye for now.

another card

Good morning everyone I hope you had a good weekend. I have another of my new flower die cards to show you, made at the weekend. The embossed layer was using an embossing folder included in a magazine. I inked it so that the colour went into the de-bossed side - so that it was very delicate. The daisy flower I made from ordinary weight copy paper & coloured them with pink ink. The ivy leaves I made from a lightweight white card & gave them just a hint of pink. It didn't look right with white leaves, or with green ones. I am really pleased with the finish.   I have not put a sentiment until I know who will be receiving it. Have a good day. 'Bye for now.

Another recent card

Recently I weakened & bought some John Next Door flower stamps with matching dies.  Ooh - by the way - Good Morning everyone. Now, I love making flowers & I already have a mixture of stamps that have to be hand cut & stamps that can be die cut - but you have to do each one individually.  John Next Door, & I am sure you have seen them, came up with the idea of plates of stamps with matching die plates.  So, you can stamp & die-cut multiple flowers.  I am all for saving time & theses work a treat.  Since buying them I have been looking at images of cards made by other people - mainly because over the last week or two my creative mojo has once again flown out the door.  Perhaps that should now read - had flown. On Thursday I finally sat down & made my first JND card & here it is; There is quite a bit of die-cutting but I can still use my favourite craft - stamping. The flowers is his blossom flower both stamped & die-cut & as you can se

Good afternoon everyone.  I hope you have lots of good things planned for the weekend. This afternoon I am going back to last year & another set of photos of cards made by Joanna of Mold club, when she attended a workshop with Sweet Poppy stencils. The first 2 cards - the pink ones - Joanna made when she was back home. These next 2 cards Joanna made at the workshop. & this panel is one that she took along to a Mold club night & the ladies said they would like to learn that technique; So, I think Joanna along with Janet are working out how to organise this for sometime in the year. There is one more set of photos from Joanna & Janet's workshop so I will probably post those here tomorrow. Have a great weekend. 'Bye for now.

A recent card

Image
Good afternoon ladies I hope you are all well. Last night was the March meeting for the CSNW ladies.  I did not attend the meeting so I am hoping to receive some photos of their project in the next few days. In the meantime here is a photo of a card I made recently I was pleased with this card as I wanted it to be pretty, delicate & yet fresh looking. So I created a background with one of my new stencils, using just 2 colours. Created another layer with the 2 main colours around the edges to tie the 2 pieces together. I simply stamped the sentiment & the tulip spray in black. I did toy with the idea of colouring the tulips - but then worried I would spoil it so left it as it was. That's all there is from me today.  I managed to have a bit of a play day today with new dies & stamps & I also managed to make a card.  Will probably show you those in a couple of days. By for now.

Good  morning everyone I hope you all had a good weekend. At the last Mold meeting a couple of weeks ago the Show & Tell card was to be a card using the colours coffee & cream.  This was one of the cards; It was made by Sheelagh. She so enjoyed making it that she sat & made some more - so that is my showcase for today. Here they are;- That is a fun card. What 11 year old girl wouldn't love this one Three views of the one made for a 13 year old sporty boy. They are great cards, Sheelagh & really reflect your fun approach to lots of your cards. That's my visit for today folks. 'Bye for now.
