A special card

Image
Good morning ladies I am just popping in to show you the special card that I made for Bob for our anniversary. I can show it to you now as it was 2 days ago & he has obviously seen it. As you know because we have a double anniversary now I try to combine the 2 in one card.  I am not sure how long I will be able to do this for as it isn't always easy to come up with a new idea. So, this time a gate-fold card. The flourishes are from a Tim Holtz die, & the scribble heart is also one of his. On the heart is the 4 for our 4th wedding anniversary/ Open the card & there is another gate-fold card celebrating the 32 years we have been together. The trellis is also a Tim Holtz die. Untie the bow, and............. there is the insert. There isn't tippex (if you are old enough to remember what that is) on the page. I have "painted out" my very personal message to Bob.  After all it is only  for Bob to read. The sentiment is an

Hi everyone As during this coming week Bob & I have an anniversary we have decided to give ourselves some "us" time - so I may not been on here all that regular, in fact depending on how we spend our days I may not get on here at all. Thought I would let you know so you don't think I have given up on blogging things for you.

Club Pages updated

Good afternoon ladies. A couple of days ago I updated the club pages with the information for the May meetings. I will look into updating them again - for the June meeting, as soon as I can.

2017 Workshop

I have just entered details on the Events page of the proposed 2017 workshop. The lady I have been speaking to is Elizabeth Robinson who is on the design team for Indigo Blu. On that page I have asked you to let me know your preferences of dates as soon as possible - you can email me OR better still leave your preference in a comment at the bottom of this page. PLEASE REMEMBER to put your name at the end of your chosen dates, so I know who has replied. I would like at least a minimum of 15 people to make it worthwhile for Elizabeth. I am going to set this post up so that it stays at the top of the Home page for a while, so remember in order to read anything newer scroll past this post.  So it will appear, then disappear for a moment when I change the published date.

Hello everyone.  I hope you are having a nice bank holiday weekend & not eating too many chocolate eggs.  ðŸ˜Š On Friday I returned to the special card I was making that had the problem with low tack tape removing the lustre on the card.  I decided I couldn't think of a way to nicely cover it - so I scrapped it altogether, & started again.  This time I used a nice textured cream card & everything went really well. Then on Saturday whilst in the swing of creating I made 2 more cards - one for my step-grandaughter who will be 40 at the end of the month, & one for Iwan who is Gareth's stepson & he will be 14 early in May. I cannot show you the 3 cards until they have been received by the recipients - so keep a eye for them in a couple of weeks time. Yesterday afternoon we had a visit from Elayne & Gareth with the lovely news - that their baby is going to be a boy - so we are having a Grandson  ðŸ‘¦ After chatting for a while we went out for a meal &

Oops - I wonder how many of you remember the things that I post on here. I am hoping that some of you noticed my error on the last showcase post. What's more there is another oops - as Blogger decided to publish this post after I had only typed 2 lines. There are times when I really hate computers. But the original oops above - was that I showed the wrong prize photos - I had blogged that prize of Joanna's wins a little while back. This is the prize that I should have shown; The information I put with the other photos was correct for this photo.   Looks a nice little bundle Joanna - I hope you enjoy using it. I am now going to lay down in a darkened room & see if I can get my brain back in gear. 'Bye for now.

Hi everyone - well, the rain is back!  Still it has a few days to go in order to get it out of its system for the weekend. I have a question! This afternoon I have been getting sections of a special card made & I am using Crafter's Companion white A4 card that is "Hint of Gold".  I was die-cutting on it & held my dies in place with some very low tack tape - but it still took the surface off. Its like it has removed the hint of gold on it. Have you used this card with dies?  How did you avoid this problem? Oops that is 2 questions. That is all from me today. 'Bye for now.

Good evening ladies & what another beautiful day, we really are being spoilt - I hope it lasts through to the bank holiday weekend. Today I have a member showcase & it is for Joanna of Mold club.  She sent me an email a few days back with photos of a prize she had won. Once again it was for leaving comments on a craft website.  Her email said; "Hi, I won a prize! I logged-in at The Scrapbook Garden almost everyday for the month of March and my 'number' was chosen for a £15 spend :)" Then I got another email in which she said; "Just noticed I said £15 originally - it was £25 😳" Here are the photos of her prize; Very nice Joanna. Did you notice that when I put Joanna's messages in italics it also tilted the little emoji face?  He looks quite cute. That is me for this evening. 'Bye for now.

Good heavens where has the time gone - my last post was on Thursday! Oops, early forgot - good evening ladies.  How are you all?  I hope you had a really nice weekend with that lovely weather. What have I been up to?  For the life of me I cannot recall what kept me so occupied on Friday other than getting some paperwork ready for my club meeting at HSNW tonight. Saturday, as it was such a beautiful day, Bob & I took the day off & so we jumped in the car & went where the whim took us.   👫  We had a beautiful drive out in the country lanes away from the busy main roads.  There is such beautiful countryside to look at here in North Wales we never tire of it. Our journey of just turning down roads to see where they went eventually took us in to Snowdonia. At one point we had headed towards Bedgellert where we thought we would stop for a snack, but it was so busy we couldn't find anywhere to park so we kept going. Eventually we spotted a rather nice little pub called

CSNW Photos

Good afternoon everyone. There is only one set of photos from last nights CSNW meeting & they are of their Show & Tell cards where the challenge was the Black & White card with a Geometric design. Here are their cards; Grace is a fan of Zentangle & after creating the 4 six-sided shapes she filled them with zentangle patterns.  I love the way the corners complete the design. Ruth cut squares & square frames from different patterned papers & added some cut out circles as well to create this lovely random design. Clares design is definitely geometrical with different sizes of circles & hexagons, set on 4 large & 4 small triangles. Isn't he cute! Although I have to admit my first glance at the card I was so taken with the circles above the foliage I thought they were representing flowers.  I did wonder why one had googly eyes on it. Then Gwen put me right when she said it was a caterpillar.  Of course it is - what was t

club page updates

Following a prompt from a club member I have now updated the club pages with the information for the April evenings, including the project photo page. Apologies for oversight. I will be adding May at the weekend probably to get ahead of myself. Tonight is the April meeting of the CSNW club - so tomorrow photos of their project & Show & Tell cards. Yesterday I didn't get any crafting done as I accompanied Bob to one of his business lunches that he goes to each month.  Yesterday was Ladies Day - also Bob was the guest speaker talking about his time on the Royal Yacht.  Everyone seemed to enjoy the talk & seeing the various photos that Bob showed them. Right - time to get ready for the CSNW meeting. 'Bye for now.

some work in progress

Good afternoon ladies. How was your weekend?  Enjoyable I hope. Bob & I had a very pleasant family evening on Saturday as we took our grand-daughter out for a meal to celebrate her 21st birthday, & of course the boys & their wives came too.  Very, very nice. This afternoon I just have a couple of photos of some work in progress of mine.  I decided to revisit a technique from some time ago - Retiform.  So here are the samples I made they now need to be turned into cards. Do you remember us doing this?   Perhaps you weren't a member of the clubs when we did it.  I am thinking of making a return visit to some of these sort of techniques.  So, keep a eye on the programmes it may pop up later in the year. That is me for this visit today. 'Bye for now.

my prize

Good afternoon ladies - what a wet morning it was.  I do hope this weather doesn't spoil your plans for the weekend. Yesterday my prize from the magazine arrived - the one for my 2 special cards that were published recently.  So I have a photo of it to show you; As you can see it is a Hunkydory pack. It makes 4 cards in this Art Deco style & they are called "Peekaboo". I am not sure why - but will investigate & when I have made the cards will put photos on the blog. That is all I am popping in for today.  Have a great weekend. 'Bye for now.
