a recent birthday card

Image
Good afternoon everyone Today I have a birthday card I made recently finally getting to use my Brusho paints; I love the way that the finish is so random.  I haven't yet tried being more precise with them, but then - I am not sure i want to be. That's me for today.  'Byte for now.

Good afternoon everyone Well, here go with another of Rita's Brusho cards.  In fact I thought I would show you two this time; As that comedian some time ago used to say ................. "& there's more" I will show those soon.  They are really lovely cards Rita. Thank you for sending them in. 'Bye for now.

a recent birthday card

Hello everyone This afternoon I have a photo of a recent birthday card I made in one of my CAS styles; I really do like this clean look along with the small colour panel - rather fresh looking, don't you agree? Sorry, but that is another quick pop in from me.  More later.

Good morning everyone. Today I have the first card that Rita has sent me a photo of, using all that Brusho painted card; Rita - that is just beautiful. This is a quick pop in to show you Rita's card & there will be some more over the next week or so. I am intending to give you the chance to play with these paints a bit later in the year. 'Bye for now.

member showcase - part 1

Image
Good morning & today I have a member showcase for you from Rita of Mold II club.  I say a member showcase, as you can see from the title there is more than one part to it. Rita like myself has been smitten by Brusho paints - but appears to have found lots of time to play with them.  Something I am still looking for - but hopefully very shortly. This is the first photo Rita sent; This is all her pieces of card painted & drying awaiting some stamping etc.  That's a lot of card you have got ready, Rita! Tune in, as they say, tomorrow for the first - yes first - photo Rita sent me of what she has done with all this card. 'Bye for now.

Mold photos - part 2

Good morning ladies & today I have the photos of the Mold club meeting project.  Thursday night saw the project using tissue. Now I didn't tell any of the clubs just how we were going to use the tissue - but perhaps now you see the work from the Mold club you may start to work it out. Here is their work & for this technique everything is a work in progress piece.  I hope some of the ladies will bring their pieces back to one of the meetings made into a card. Two different effects from Clare - one quite strong & one more subtle Two totally different finishes from Janet - I think the hearts piece was using up the left overs. The piece in the middle with the dragonfly is very ethereal. Joan (brown) used her design to create stripes for the flowers to be stamped into. The top piece almost looks like trees on the edge of a pond with a blue sky above. Three quite dramatic pieces from Joanna - I particularly like the top one with the

Good morning ladies This morning I have the photos from the Mold club night Show & Tell for you where their theme was a card from a sketch; Here is the sketch - Here are their cards; This card is by Janet with a great use of those scene-scape style stamps - I love the addition of the boat on the little round embellishment. Joanna's card has a Michael Strong design on the tag & those flowers are really lovely. A distressed edge for a different look. Maureen went for the oriental look with lovely delicate colours. For Rhiannon an embossed background & some antique lace. Great use of the buttons as well. Sheelagh added a Alcohol Ink & Aluminium Tape tag. Love that metal frame that holds the word "friends". On Yvonne's card we have these lovely delicate vellum flowers all in this delicate shade of blue & white. A really lovely set of cards ladies.  It is always interesting to see how different

just chatting

Hi everyone - well another beautiful day & it is getting quite warm isn't it.  Does this mean summer is here? Tonight it is the June meeting for Mold club & I have just finished putting my box together & hope that I have not forgotten anything.  I expect I will have a last minute check before leaving home this evening just to make sure.  I know I have remembered to put the camera in - so photos will be ok. So tonight & tomorrow (or possibly tonight & Saturday) there will be photos for you to see from the meeting. Today is also the day in the month when I have my regular lunch with a group I belong to, & today Bob is coming along as well so that will be nice. I also have a build up of photos of cards I have made recently - so I will be showing you those over the next few days as well. I don't think I will be blogging anything tomorrow as we have a funeral to attend in Staffordshire & there will not be a lot of time in the day. So - another

Good evening everyone & what a lovely sunny day it has been. Did you see that sunset tonight - I don't think I even saw one so colourful when I was in Italy last year. Last night was my club night at HSNW & one of the ladies showed us some ideas using alcohol inks on acetate.  It was very interesting & it is just amazing how many different things there are that can be done with these inks.  I already have a couple of things lined up for your programmes that I have worked on over the last month or so. Now, over the next couple of weeks Bob & I are going to be quite busy - so posts will be a little intermittent.  I apologise for this but will try & post as often as I  can. I  hope you are all enjoying this lovely weather & I guess the BBQ's are beginning to come out - I think ours will need a dust down soon ready for use. Hopefully more of a crafty chat tomorrow. 'Bye for now.

a wedding card

Image
Good afternoon everyone - I hope you are having a good weekend. Today I have a photo of the wedding card I made during this last week; The white scalloped edge card was embossed with the Tattered Lace rose border, then I used their wedding bells die to cut out the main image.  On the top folded edge I used a Crafters Companion "over the edge" die.  The insert lining is a pale green which was the closest I could get to the colour of one of the bridesmaids dresses (as I understood the colour description), then on the bell topper there are 3 little pink gems to go with the other bridesmaids dresses. I did do some stamping - the sentiment & message on the inside, which was from a Visible Image stamp. Yesterday we had a very pleasant time starting in Llandudno where we met Gareth & Elayne & Elayne's parents for the purpose of measuring for wedding suits for the two dads. Afterwards we all went for lunch together, & the day finished with the

Good morning everyone. Today I have the member showcase for Mold II member Rita - who does seem to be getting a lot of her cards published at the moment & congratulations to her for it; Here is her latest published card; Rita's card was made using a rose die that had been free on a recent magazine. Keep the good work up Rita.

two recent birthday cards

Image
Good afternoon everyone.  It is looking like the weather is on the change - I do hope it stays nice tomorrow for a young lady I know who is getting married. So the photos I have today are two recent birthday cards I made, & as seems the case at the moment when I find a style that works I make two cards; Both cards are based on a square white card & I placed a strip of decorative paper down the left-hand side next to the fold. I then stamped the flower on a separate piece of card & cut away the left hand side so that the flower head was a cutout. This was then trimmed & adhered to the main card overlapping the floral paper a little & then finished with a butterfly & greeting. I have another member showcase in the pipeline which I will probably blog tomorrow.  Ahh, just thought - we will be out quite a bit tomorrow as Bob is being measured for his wedding suit for Gareth & Elaynes wedding & we will be meeting Elayne's parents after.  So

Good evening & tonight I have a member showcase for you, & this is another one from Sheelagh of Mold club. It would appear Sheelagh is totally smitten with the diorama card; Two lovely cards - one for Christmas & one for a new arrival. They are lovely Sheelagh & I now that when you love a design you always use it a lot - so it is obvious you love this one. That's me for today ladies - more tomorrow.

photos - my workshop

Image
Good afternoon everyone, & this afternoon I have the photos of the items that I made at the workshop I attended on Saturday; This was the first item - I used one of the demonstrators stamps - this girl is really funky.  Trouble is I think I have a couple of stamps with that type of character on.  But it is the technique used on the tag rather than the images- based on Distress Inks..  I think it is certainly a favourite. But then ................. perhaps this is my favourite.  The topper is made using mixed media - acrylic paint, glazes, waxes etc on thick board with thick board die-cuts. It was made in very much the same way several of my canvases were made - & I had been thinking about trying the technique for cards, & there it is.  The topper is not stuck down at the moment as I want to put a copper coloured layer beneath it.  What do you think of the Best Wishes frame.  All my own work. I just put tongue between teeth & went for it.  It is definite

Good morning everyone & what another beautiful day it is too. This morning I have a member showcase photo for you & this time it is from Sheelagh of Mold club; I have shown these extra large because otherwise you cannot see the detail.  Aren't they lovely?  Well done Sheelagh & I am sure that Carolyn of Mold II club who showed us all how to make these will be absolutely delighted. I have another showcase for you later as I have spotted a card in a magazine from one of our ladies. Also I didn't take photos yesterday of the cards I had made at the workshop because Bob & I went out for most of the day.  We had a really beautiful drive around the Welsh countryside which we started by heading towards Ruthin, then out towards Bala (but didn't go there).  Along country lanes just big enough to take the car & we stumbled upon a very quaint pub where we stopped for a drink & having watched the food being brought out decided we would return an

Good evening everyone. Just popping in quickly to say I had an absolutely brilliant workshop today - thoroughly enjoyed it & have come away with quite a few ideas for club nights. Tomorrow I will take photos of the projects & show you, then I will need to look at your programmes & see where I can fit it in. Oh yes, I mentioned yesterday that I was looking forward to watching a demo with Brushos.  well, we had one, we worked with them & I am absolutely won over.  Sadly the demonstrator did not have any stock - so its on to the Internet tomorrow to see where I can buy them ...................... quickly. I hope your weekend is going well. 'Bye for now.

csnw photos - part 2

Image
Good afternoon everyone - well the weekend is here once again.  Where do the days go? We will soon be halfway through the year and thinking of C.......s!! So today I have the photos of CSNW's project at their meeting on Wednesday when they had a play with Alcohol Inks, Aluminium tape & tags. Two different colour ways from Ann F That paisley folder is very effective Two swirly designs from Clare & on the left-hand tag Clare went back in with a pale pen on the raised design for another effect. Gold & Silver seems to be Elvena's colour scheme. I think butterscotch was used on the left-hand one which is a great base for many other colours. Two designs from Grace with quite opposing colour schemes. The blue/purple is very dramatic. Delicate lilac colours from Gwen who made toppers rather than tags. Two different colour schemes from Hayley - that yellowy green is very spring like. Joyce's tags were very colour
